The Main Inn is a classic New Englander, an 1830's New Hampshire farmhouse at the edge of a sweet NH village. The rooms in this building have that heritage feeling, lots of charm with dormers, unusual nooks, welcome space and comfort.
The Carriage House is a huge, peaked-ceiling, pine-paneled function room, perfect for small weddings, parties, or meetings. Ask about this lovely environment and its possibilities. It includes three spacious, lovely, livable guestrooms all pine wainscoted with soft green carpeting. An all-wood paneled game room with glass front wood stove, billiard table, TV/VCR, sitting area, chess, games, and puzzles.
The Osceola Room is a huge peaked-ceiling, pine-paneled function room, perfect for three season weddings, parties, meetings, ask about this lovely environment and its possibilities.
The Franconia Room is a handsome wood-paneled game room with billiards. A cozy room with a glass front wood stove, billiard table, TV/VCR, sitting area, chess, games, and puzzles.
Sink into the couches, sleep by the glow of the fire, read your book, watch the game or a movie, and enjoy a glass of wine. Be alone or meet some wonderful people.
A favorite, not only for the yummy breakfasts and snacks, but for its handsome 'bead board' cottage ceiling, the antique skis and snowshoes, and the historic photos of days gone bye.
Let your stress melt away in our Swedish Sauna. A must for relaxation. A wet or dry cedar sauna. Bath with shower next to the sauna.
The Inn sits on six acres of field that abuts National Forest land. The property boasts lovely plantings, hedges, gardens, a soccer field, volleyball, barbeque grills, and hammock. Plenty of room to play or relax. We are located in the Pemigewasset River Valley with views to Sandwich Dome, Welch Mountain, and Mt. Tecumseh. With Franconia Notch to our north and pristine Squam Lake to our south, we feel privileged to have the best of what New Hampshire has to offer. Come for the fun!
Weddings and Special Events
The Mountain Fare Inn has beautifully landscaped grounds, with picturesque flower gardens and plenty of space, perfect for outdoor weddings or other functions.
The Carriage House is a vaulted ceiling, pine paneled spacious facility. A new hardwood dance floor has been installed. This room is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. An upstairs game room can provide additional entertainment. A wonderful building to occupy with friends for special celebrations.
Bring your generations, your memories, your games and fun. We have ample indoor and outdoor space for the gang. We assure privacy and respectful service. A candlelight dinner may be included or your family is welcome to use our Barbecue area. Don't wait to share family time. Just send the invitations and we will do the rest.

Location and Directions
So where are we? Well, we are 2 hours north of Boston; 1 hour North of Manchester, NH; 2 1/2 hours from both Portland, ME and Burlington, VT; and 3 1/2 hrs from Montreal.
Our closest airport is Manchester NH, but you can also fly into Logan Airport in Boston, MA.
What's nearby? Holderness School, New Hampton School, Plymouth State University, Waterville Valley, Loon Mt., Cannon Mt., Franconia Notch, Squam Lake, Old Man of the Mountain, to name a few.
Driving Instructions To Our Inn
- From Interstate 93 take exit #28, Waterville Valley
- Off the exit take Route 49 E
- Go one mile to the traffic light
- Turn left onto 175 N
- Go .4 mi. Bear right onto Mad River Rd
- We are the 4th house on the right. Easy to find! But if you get lost in our beautiful town just call, we'll guide you in.
