Start your day with a full Meet Me In St. Louis breakfast. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room, or weather permitting, in the garden courtyard. The inn offers a flexible serving time: 8 - 9 AM weekdays and 8:30 - 9:30 AM on weekends/holidays. If you have an early business meeting or need to be on your way by 8 AM on weekdays, we offer breakfast as early as 7 AM. Or, you may request a "Breakfast to Go."

Fresh fruit, juice, house-blend coffee and an assortment of teas are followed by a main entrée such as Napoleon's French Toast, Belgian waffles, quiches or a variety of baked egg dishes and fresh muffins or breads. Low fat items and special dietary needs can usually be met with 72 hour advance notice.

Relax in the guest parlor, with a good book and coffee or tea in front of the fire. The garden courtyard offers a secluded hideaway or a great place to steal a peek at the newspaper before breakfast.

The Lafayette Square National Historic District is considered one of the great urban neighborhoods in the country. Located just one mile south of downtown St. Louis, there are nine restaurants located within two blocks of the inn, including a great wine bar and Bailey's Chocolate Bar. Representing the largest collection of Victorian-era homes in the nation, a "walk & gawk" tour of the historic district is a must! Located in the center of the neighborhood is 30 acre Lafayette Park, offering a glimpse into the past with its original wrought iron fence, gazebos, park house and duck pond. The oldest city park west of the Mississippi River is perfect for a morning jog or evening stroll before or after dinner. Rich and inviting, the neighborhood offers an idyllic setting after a long day of sight-seeing or business without having to get back into your car.

St. Louis the city will be at your front door during your stay at Napoleon's Retreat. The inn is just one mile south of downtown and Union Station and one and half miles to the Arch, convention center and Busch Stadium. Three miles is Forest Park which houses the St. Louis Zoo (just chosen best in the country), the Art Museum, History Museum and Muny. The world-class Botanical Gardens are just one and half miles south of the inn, as is Anheuser Busch. A fifteen minute walk will have you at the nearest MetroLink station which will take you to Forest Park, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis University and Washington University.
