Here are the details: The all inclusive Murder Mystery Dinner is interactive which unfolds as you enjoy a four course dinner. Some of the audience is part of the drama and others play amateur detectives as they follow the clues to a murder that occurs in front of them. The guests who figure out the plot and reveal the killer based on the evidence wins the prize. The mayhem, mystery and action takes place in and around the audience. You will feel yourself drawn in by the characters. Audience members are chosen to portray additional characters in the production, given lines to read. The dinner theater style show begins at 7 p.m. with appetizers. Each show has a unique theme, and shows change every few months. Cost is $44 per person including show and dinner, plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, tables of 6 or more receive one free ticket. This event is participatory, if the guest so chooses. Every guest performer receives a character bio. About 8-20 have speaking parts: 4-ten minor and 4-ten major. During a getaway to the Garth Mansion's rolling estate guests seeking a few days of self-exploration, creativity, and spa luxury can relax and rejuvenate using our Missouri day spa facilities. Our certified massage therapist offers guests a 60-minute Swedish Massage, deep muscle, pregnancy, or a customized massage where you can tell her where to focus, i.e., just shoulders, legs, back, or head. Guests may also enjoy a relaxing reflexology session coupled with a relaxing footbath. We recommend reservations for our massage services be made prior to your arrival, but we may be able to accommodate you at check-in. Price per one hour session is $65.

Get into the spirit of the season with a Christmas getaway vacation at Garth Woodside Mansion in Hannibal, Missouri. One of the favorite times of the year at the Mansion is the Christmas season. The inn glows with seasonal hospitality. Full of historical anecdotes and knowledge of Victorian practices, your innkeepers Julie and John, adhere to many Victorian holiday customs in decorating the mansion. There are several trees throughout the Garth Mansion decorated just a few days before Thanksgiving. Ask about helping to decorate and we will treat you to a free night stay when you stay two nights. Hannibal has festivities as well, with two different trails of lights, a living windows display downtown, late night hours in the historic district and even a Christmas parade abound. Plan on doing some serious Christmas shopping for family and friends. There is a Christmas Parade on December 5th. Following that same afternoon, will be a living windows display. This is always a highly popular event. With each downtown merchant having literally live displays: grandmothers reading to their children, elves making toys for Santa, and families making goodies in the storefront windows. Trail of Lights is located near the Mark Twain Cave. The Trail of Lights includes almost 40 displays. The cost is $5 per car. It increases every year with the amount of displays. The donate the proceeds every year to one of our favorites: The USO! The displays will be featured from November 23rd through December 26th. There are two other large displays of lights we can direct you to with maps on your arrival. The Christmas Parade and Living Windows on Main Street is the first Saturday in December. Early Sunday morning is a great time to fly over the Garth Mansion, the Mississippi River and up to Quincy and see the surrounding area.  Our new airport in Hannibal is just a few short miles away and an hour trip is well worth it.  Fly for an hour and still be back in time for breakfast.  Flight for one person is $175 for a full hour and for two people in a little bigger plane is only $225. This includes the flight, the pilot, the tour and are no hidden charges after you get there.  Make sure to bring you camera and we can add your pictures to the collection.  Of course, other days are also available, just let us know as soon as you can so we can call ahead to get you a pilot.
