A short thirty-mile drive up the Gunflint Trail from Grand Marais, you find this exciting new lodging experience. Perched on a glacial esker, the Guesthouse offers a dramatic view of Little Ollie Lake and Poplar Creek below. The Guesthouse features a suite for those looking for extended stays and bed and breakfast rooms for overnight guests. The Bed and Breakfast rooms feature a mouth-watering breakfast each morning, including two juices, fresh fruit, entre, two meats, and a dessert, served with a Northwoods touch. We offer special lodging packages to celebrate Honeymoons and Anniversaries or other special events. Activities like hiking, canoeing, skiing or dog-sledding can also be included with your lodging. Both Bed and Breakfast rooms are located on the second floor of the Guesthouse, along with a common room. Set aside for use by guests, the common room features a sitting area with gas fireplace, bookcase with an abundant collection of books, board games, a deck over-looking Little Ollie Lake and Poplar Creek, and furnished kitchenette with dining area.Ollie's Room

This large sunny room features a rocking chair, large desk with data port telephone, wireless internet also, table and chairs and two queen beds. The private bath includes a double shower with a "rain forest" showerhead. Dorothy's room can accommodate up to four people. Barbara's Suite Living Room
Barbara's Suite or Bed and Breakfast SuiteAccommodates up to four people. The suite features a great room that contains the kitchen/dining/living room area with fireplace and deck. Couch and rocking chair, table and chairs and furnished kitchen complete the great room. Telephone with data port. Wireless internet also. There is a private bath with shower and bedroom with queen bed. A pull-out sofa sleeper can accommodate two people. The suite is rented as a housekeeping accommodation (where you prepare all your own meals) or with breakfast included for an additional rate.
Barbara's Suite is on the main floor of the guesthouse. The sliding door to the suite's deck can be used as a private entrance to the Suite. A picnic table and chairs complete the Suite's deck.

You are invited to join us at the Poplar Creek Guesthouse Bed and Breakfast or at our two vacation rental cabins-- the Little Ollie Lake and the Poplar Creek Retreat Cabins. Or if you looking for a very remote getaway, check out our Wilderness Yurts. We are located along the Gunflint Trail Scenic Byway-- just a short thirty-mile drive from the Lake Superior Coastal town of Grand Marais. There is always plenty to do-- hiking, mountain biking and ski trails start at our B&B and Cabins front doors. There is canoeing, swimming and great fishing in our lake and adjoining BWCA lakes. Moose viewing is an ever poplar activity along the Gunflint Trail and the area is renowned for birding. We offer special Guided and Self-Guided Birding Tours and Birding Packages with Lodging. Secluded Cabins Poplar Creek Guesthouse B & B We offer two secluded year-around cabins-- the Little Ollie Lake Cabin and the new Poplar Creek Retreat. The Little Ollie Lake Cabin is located on the shores of Little Ollie Lake and the Poplar Creek Retreat sits on the banks of Poplar Creek just a short walk from the Lake. The Lake is great for canoeing, fishing and swimming and is the source of Poplar Creek. Skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and mountain biking trails begin at the front door of both cabins. The Poplar Creek Guesthouse B & B sits on a glacial esker overlooking Little Ollie Lake and a beautiful year-round flowing creek. Furnishings and decor have been inspired by mission style. The Guesthouse offers two bed and breakfast guestrooms and a housekeeping suite. Features include fireplaces, private baths, decks and a whirlpool guestroom. Wireless internet is now available. 
Tall Pines and Croft Wilderness Yurts
Looking for a solitary, out-of-the-way vacation sanctuary, on the edge of the Boundary Waters without another soul around? Check out our Yurts! The Tall Pines Yurt, located on your own private Boundary Waters lake, is available year-round. In the summer, you can hike or bike to the yurt and in the winter, ski or snowshoe in. The Croft Yurt is available only during the winter and serves as a welcome overnight stop for skiers traveling along the Banadad Ski Trail on a Yurt to Yurt Ski Adventure Trip.

Poplar Creek Retreat Cabin
This new luxurious two-bedroom cabin overlooks the year-around-flowing Poplar Creek. The creek begins at the Little Ollie Lake. The Lake is just a short walk from the cabin. The cabin accommodates up to six people and includes a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, freestanding LP fireplace, electric heat, four-season front porch and side deck. Each of the bedrooms has its own private bath with shower. The second floor bath has a double size whirlpool tub. From both bedrooms front windows there is a great view of the creek. Other features include; firepit, charcoal grill, private picnic area and phone. A canoe comes with the cabin in the summer. Pets are allowed with restrictions. $20 per night per pet. Maximum $50 per pet.The road to the cabin connects to some of the finest mountain biking trails in the area. Hiking trails are just out the door and miles of canoeing in the BWCA are just a paddle from the nearby dock. In the winter the road is plowed, so you can drive to the cabin. Groomed ski trails with connections to the BWCA longest tracked trail the Banadad and the Gunflint Nordic Trail System along with six miles of snowshoe begin at the cabin's front door.

Little Ollie Lake Cabin
Want to enjoy the wilderness without foregoing those civilized comforts a modern cottage provides? The Little Ollie cabin is it! This modern two bedroom cabin is perched on a hill overlooking your own picturesque lake on the edge of the Boundary Waters. In fact, you can stand on the cabin's front deck and pitch stones into the BWCAW. The cabin includes a fully equipped kitchen, free standing fireplace, electric heat and and bath with shower. A satellite TV in the living room. The cabin has two bedrooms. The upper floor bedroom has one double size bed. The lower level bedroom has one double size bed plus two single size beds. Six people can be accommodated. Drinking water is located in the kitchen in beverage coolers.
The road to the cabin connects to some of the finest mountain biking trails in the area. Hiking trails are just out the door and miles of BWCAW canoeing are just a paddle from the dock. In the winter, the cabin is available as an exclusive retreat. The road is plowed, so you can drive to the cabin. Groomed ski trails with connections to the 200 kilometer Gunflint Nordic Trail System begin at the cabin's door. Over four miles of snowshoe trails begin right out the door.
