Brookside Suite

The Brookside Suite with three large windows boasting sunshine and overlooking Oregon Creek from the second floor has a very elegant look.  You will have access to a second floor outside deck where you can relax and take in the secluded scenery of trees and flowers and seasonal views of Lake Superior. This very spacious suite offers a king-size cherry four-poster bed, cushioned love seat positioned in front of the fireplace, state-of-the-art air conditioning, a comfortable rocking chair for reading, gas fireplace, entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, audio system, CD player and IPod docking station. The private bathroom includes a historic pedestal sink and a two-person corner Jacuzzi whirlpool with a shower head, surrounded with limestone along with luxurious amenities. We do require a two-night minimum weekend stay.  One night stays may be available at the last minute--give us a call!

Isle Royale Suite

The Isle Royale Suite is on the second floor of the historic mansion and the suite features unique and original architectural detail including the original eight-piece crown molding and plate rail which holds a beautiful collection of Joy's mother's Cape Cod Crystal collection. The suite decor features a burgundy color and is the most romantic suite at The Firelight Inn and has everything you need and more for your getaway.  Isle Royale offers a queen-size brass feather bed, private bathroom with shower, toilet and pedestal sink, a luxurious double whirlpool for two across from the gas fireplace, an comfortable upholstered chaise lounge chair for reading or relaxing, a dining table and chairs by the window facing Lake Superior, state-of-the-art air conditioning and TV/VCR/DVD, audio system, CD player and IPod docking station.  From the window facing Lake Superior you can view the big lake and the breath-taking sun rise in the morning! We do require a two-night minimum weekend stay.  One night stays may be available at the last minute--give us a call!

Barnum Suite

Our most historic looking suite features a massive ornate carved fireplace enjoyed from the love seat or the king-size canopy bed. The suite is located on the second floor in the front of the home with access to a small outside deck overlooking Oregon Creek where in the summer months you can enjoy your breakfast or an afternoon bottle of wine. The suite features a king-size, cherry canopy bed intertwined with silk roses and ribbon, matching love seat, large dressing room with original sliding mirrored doors, state-of-the-art air conditioning, and an entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, audio system and CD player and IPod docking station. The private bathroom includes a two-person Jacuzzi whirlpool with a shower head and a pedestal sink along with luxurious amenities. You can view Lake Superior through the trees in the summer from the front windows and watch the sun come up over the big lake each and every morning! We do require a two-night minimum weekend stay.  One night stays may be available at the last-minute--give us a call!

Superior Suite

The Superior Suite is a two-room suite featuring a "lighthouse" theme and is painted a beautiful shade of blue.  It is located on the third floor and offers a king-size iron bed with silk blue roses gracing it, a two-person, corner Jacuzzi whirlpool surrounded in black granite and not far from the fireplace, private bathroom with shower, and the suite includes state-of-the-art air conditioning, CD player, audio system and IPod docking station. The skylight in the Superior Suite opens, connects to the spiral fire escape and provides wonderful views of Duluth's Harbor and Lake Superior over the tops of the majestic trees. Two more skylights offer fresh air and natural light.  French doors adjoin a sitting room including a comfortable love seat, rocking chair, entertainment center with TV/VCR/DVD, antique armoire, a small refrigerator and a bar sink.  There are round high dining tables and stools in each room of this suite so dining can be enjoyed in the bedroom watching the sun over Lake Superior or in the sitting room where you may want to catch your morning news program on television.  This suite exemplifies luxury at its best! Northwoods Suite

The Northwoods Suite is located on the third floor featuring a unique Up North decor and you may think after checking in that you are the only people in the big mansion.  The room's skylight opens and connects to the spiral fire escape and offers great views of Duluth's Harbor and Lake Superior over the top of the trees. The "cozy" suite offers a queen-size brass bed, easy chair with ottoman, state-of-the-art air conditioning, a gas fireplace with granite tiles from Central Minnesota, dining table and chairs, TV/VCR/DVD, CD player, audio system, IPod docking station and private bathroom.  A Jacuzzi whirlpool for two with a shower head makes this suite romantic and comfortable. We do require a two-night minimum weekend stay.  One night stays may be available at the last minute--give us a call.

Guests are encouraged to enjoy the common areas of the inn at all times. A library of videos, DVDs, games, cards, puzzles, CDs, and books are available to guests. The original butler's pantry in the inn is available for guests to get complimentary snacks and beverages.

Every morning, a sumptuous, full breakfast is delivered to your suite in a basket and may be eaten on your dining table next to the fireplace or on an outdoor deck overlooking Oregon Creek. We would be happy to serve you at the dining room table or in the glass-enclosed front porch if you so choose. Your breakfast may include Savory Croissant Breakfast Pudding, Banana Crumble, fresh fruit, Apple Muffins, Pecan Coffeecake, orange juice, Alakef Coffee, and assorted teas.

In the "High" Season our rates range from $199 to $249 for a fireplace/jacuzzi whirlpool suite which includes your hearty breakfast.  November 1st our rates are reduced for the "Quiet Season" with exceptions for the week during Christmas and through the New Year.  The low season rates apply until Grandma's Marathon weekend in June.  Click Room Images below for specific pricing and additional details.

Policies

• At our historic Minnesota bed and breakfast, you will receive the personalized service of a B&B along with wonderful and inviting accommodations.
• The Firelight Inn provides the amenities and attention to detail you would expect at a luxury hotel. All overnight stays include a full breakfast every morning (delivered to your suite, eaten on the front porch or outdoor deck, or in the dining room) home-baked cookies, snacks, and a Flavia Beverage Machine in the butler's pantry. As our guest you will also have the use of the VCR, DVD, and CD library, comfortable common areas of the Inn, and the services of the innkeepers to assist in making your stay a treasured memory.
• We would be happy to help you with your special occasion needs. We offer a variety of Special Packages to enhance your Duluth, MN vacation or weekend getaway. Special added extras such as wine and champagne, flowers, massage therapy, a honeymoon treasure chest, picnic lunches, wine lovers' package, soup suppers, cheese, fruit and cracker platters, or romance baskets can be quickly arranged by calling the innkeepers in advance of your stay.
• For the privacy and relaxation of our adult guests, guests over the age of 17 are welcome. Sorry, no pets. Check-in time begins at 3PM. Check-out time is 11AM. The minimum stay is two nights on the weekends; therefore, Thursday and Friday or Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday night are reserved together at weekend rates. One night stays are often available for a last-minute reservation so give us a call.
• Three-night minimum stays are required for special event dates of Grandma's Marathon starting on Thursday or Friday night. The Grandma's event also requires full payment at the time of your reservation and is non-refundable after that time. We no longer redeem Minnesota Bed and Breakfast and BedandBreakfast.com gift certificates.
• One-night stays are available Sunday through Thursday. Please call us for special pricing for reservations of three or more days.
• A deposit equivalent to one-half of your stay including tax is required at the time you make your reservation.  Reservations made within 21 days of your stay will be charged to your credit card at the time the reservation is made and are non-refundable.  If you cancel before 21 days of your arrival, you will incur a $50 cancellation fee and the balance of your deposit will be refunded to your credit card.  If you need to cancel your stay, you must call The Firelight Inn and speak with someone on the telephone.  Email cancellations are not valid.  There is no refunds are early departures.  If you are paying for a reservation for persons other than yourself and a guest, your credit card will be charged at the time of reservation and it is a confirmed reservation that is non-refundable.  In the case of inclement weather, management may charge your credit card and issue a gift certificate for another stay at their discretion.
