  • Introduction

    Swimming Pool

Hardwood floors, leaded glass windows, and an oak-paneled staircase all add to the inviting elegance of Sherwood Forest.

The spacious guest rooms are complete with antiques and traditional furniture, cozy wing chairs, and Oriental rugs. There are two suites with Jacuzzi & fireplaces. Another has a mural that transforms the room high up into the Tree-loft in a middle of a field surrounded by woods.

Each morning a sumptuous breakfast is served in the lace-curtained dining room or on the gracious wraparound porch. Breakfast favorites include lemon yogurt bread, blueberry muffins, sour cream coffee cake, or potato quiche accompanied by fresh fruit, juice, and gourmet coffee.
     Swimming Pool

Behind the house is a heated swimming pool adorned with a mural of a sunken ship embedded in a coral reef surrounded by a couple of hundred fish painted on the bottom. The secluded feel of the surrounding woods provides a tranquil spot for taking a dip or lounging on the patio. The eastern shore of Lake Michigan and the Douglas Public Beach are one-half block away, while Saugatuck's Oval Beach and marinas are just minutes away. The areas wide, white sandy beaches are the perfect place for strolling, swimming, or watching spectacular sunsets.

In the spring, summer, and fall, use Sherwood Forest's bicycles to explore the scenic lakeshore or for a short ride into charming Saugatuck. In the winter, nearby parks and trails are available for cross-country skiing or hiking.

Saugatuck, just 2 miles away, offers many shopping and fine dining opportunities. Or for a delicious in-house catered dining experience,
try the "Famous Chefs of Saugatuck" dinner packages, available at Sherwood Forest November-April.

Your hosts, Keith and Susan Charak, were drawn to Western Michigan by its beauty and innumerable charms. They look forward to sharing their enthusiasm for the area with their guests.
