The Kirby House Bed & Breakfast

Room 3 - Jackie O

What was originally the Library on the first floor of the home, this room later became the operating room for 30 years when the house served Saugatuck, Douglas and Fennville as the Douglas Community Hospital. The room has a queen size antique bed, private bathroom with shower stall in the room and a beautiful leaded glass bay window overlooking the side yard.

Room 4 - Anne Bolyn

This room at the top of the stairs on the second floor served as the maid's room during the year's Sarah Kirby lived in the house.  During the hospital years, the room became "post op" as it was the most convenient room to carry patients up to after surgery on the first floor.  The room has a queen size sleigh bed, a small private porch that overlooks the pool and a private bath directly outside the room with an antique clawfoot tub and shower combination.

Room 5 - Lady Bird Johnson

A queen size bed and sleeper couch make this a comfortable room for three people.  If there's just two of you, the couch is a great spot to "cozy up" in private and read a book.  The private bathroom with shower stall is directly across the hall.  For your convenience, in addition to the full bathroom there is also a sink inside the room.    

Room 6 - Dolly Madison

Orignally this was the master bedroom of the house.  The bay window is part of the turret, which you can see from the front of this Queen Anne Victorian Manor.  Inside the room is a fireplace which is available for use from November through April, a queen size bed and a small private bathroom with shower stall.

Room 7 - Lady Diana

This original bedroom has a fireplace available from November through April, a queen size bed and private bath with shower stall inside the room along with a beautiful bay window overlooking the front yard. The fireplace front in this room comes from the Gerber (parents of The Gerber Baby Food founder) family home which was located 1/4 mile east of the Kirby House. Mrs. Kirby and Mrs. Gerber were close friends. When the Gerber home burned down in 1984, the fireplace mantle was saved and moved to a different home. Later it was purchased and brought to the Kirby House. A perfect home to mark the friendship of these two ladies.

Room 8 - Martha Washington

This original bedroom of the home also has a daybed in the room. Making it perfect for another group of three. A private bathroom is located in the room and a beautiful leaded glass window shines through the closet, spreading rainbow prisms from the afternoon sun! The huge pine tree next to the house keeps this room shaded from the afternoon sun.

Room 9 - Marie Antoinette

This charming boutique room, located on the third floor, offers a quiet, intimate setting. A smaller dormer room overlooking the pool, there is a queen size bed and a fireplace (available from November through April) making a cozy spot for winter nights! This room is only one of two which offers basic cable television, DVD player and a selection of DVD's available to choose from. A bathroom is located next to the room and is also used by the other room on this floor.

Room 10 - Queen Victoria

This charming boutique room, located on the third floor, offers a quiet, intimate setting. A smaller dormer room on the third floor overlooking the side yard, this room has a queen size bed and is a cozy, quiet spot in the house where afternoon naps are perfect! This room is only one of two which offers basic cable television, DVD player and a selection of DVD's available to choose from. The bathroom is located across from the room and is also used by the other room on this floor.

• November 1 - April 30: $135 - $185
• Rooms with Shared Bath
• May 1 - October 31: $140 - $150
• November 1 - April 30: $110 - $145
• Minimum stays and rates may be higher during holidays or certain weekend package events.
• Check-In: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (If arriving later than 7:00 p.m. special arrangements must be made as we may have made prior engagements.) If you would like to check-in prior to 3:00 p.m. please feel free to contact us on the day of your arrival to check the availability of your room.
• Check-Out: 12:00 p.m.
• Minimum Stays: All weekend stays are subject to a 2 night minimum, 3 nights in July and August. Some holidays require a 3 or 4 night minimum.
• Reservations: Reservations will be guaranteed only if we have received payment of one night's lodging by credit card, or check. (Check must be received within five days after your reservation has been made.) Room payment is due upon check-in.
• Rates quoted are for 1 or 2 people. If more than two people per room, arrangements must be made prior to arrival as only certain rooms can accommodate more than two people. There is an additional charge of $50 per day per person over two.
• Cancellations: Due to our intimate size cancellations affect us significantly, therefore we strictly adhere to our cancellation policy. Cancellations will be honored when received no less than 14 days prior to your arrival. If you are making a reservation less than 14 days prior to your arrival date the first night's room payment is non-refundable. Multiple room reservations require a 30 day notification. All cancellations are subject to a $25 processing fee per room. Otherwise the first night's prepayment will be forfeited. Please make cancellations by phone.
• If cancelling 14 days or more prior to your arrival, request a cancellation number to ensure your credit card will be refunded.
• Changing your reservation or decreasing the length of your stay after your initial reservation may change the rate and/or availability of rooms.
• Due to the nature of the Inn and requests of our guests, smoking is not allowed and children are not encouraged.
• We do have a cat on the premises (which is not allowed in guest rooms). Guest pets are not allowed
• We do ask for a time of arrival so that we may personally check you in. If you do arrive at a different time we ask that you call us to let us know; as we may have made other commitments that prevent us
• from being available to check you in.
• You may check-in until 7:00 p.m. (EST) - Check-out time is 12:00 noon. We are one hour ahead of Illinois time.
