Rose Hill Inn

The town of Marshall boasts over 850 historic buildings from the 19th century and is the largest National Historic Landmark District of its category in the nation. Fine restaurants, antique and gift shops, museums and recreation areas are all conveniently in town, while golf courses, an amusement park, and a zoo are minutes away.

The Rose Hill Inn's twelve-foot ceilings, tall windows with lovely views, fireplaces, and fine antique furnishings combine to create a mood of tranquility and escape from the modern world.

Once the home of William Boyce, founder of the Boy Scouts of America, this spacious villa is the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary or birthday, host an elegant wedding, hold a business meeting, or simply escape for a getaway weekend.

Situated on over three acres of landscaped grounds once owned by author James Fenimore Cooper, Rose Hill offers guests the opportunity to enjoy the private tennis court or swimming pool (open from May - October), stroll in the gardens, or find their own place to relax, whether pool side, on a shaded patio at an umbrella table, on the open porch bordered with roses, or on the screened porch with a wicker swing (where the resident cat can usually be found napping).

Breakfast at Rose Hill is an elegant affair. It is usually served between 9:00 and 10:00, and guests come when they wish. It always includes juice, yogurt, home-made muffins or breads, cereal, fresh seasonal fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and a hot entree. This may be our special Carmel-Apple French Toast with sausages, South Carolina Sweet Potato Pancakes, omelets made to order, or other wonderful dishes which have become favorites of our guests. Special diets may be accommodated with advance notice.

The Rose Hill Inn is the perfect place to host your weddings, reception, rehearsal dinner or elopement. our beautiful parlors can accomodate groups of up to 35 people, and groups up to 75 people can be accomodated by our charming outdoor Victorian gazebo. We can fulfill all of your individual wedding needs, including flowers, refreshments, photography, music, clergy and more!

Using one of the convenient wedding packages at the Rose Hill Inn removes much of the anxiety from planning your perfect event. Each of the packages may also be tailored to your particular needs or wishes. For example, you may wish to write your own vows, or to have a particular color theme for your ceremony. Most of the components of the ceremony can be altered to meet your wishes. Of course, some of the changes may require an additional fee for items or services not already included in the package.

If you wish a custom wedding, we can make that much easier as well. Our wedding consultant can accommodate your wishes into a special event just for you.

The Rose Hill Inn is located in the south-central portion of Michigan.  We're approximately 3 hours east of Chicago; 2 hours west of Detroit; and 1 1/2 hours north of Fort Wayne.  

From I-94,  exit 110 (old 27).   Go south to Mansion St. Turn right (west) on Mansion.  Follow Mansion west, and after a stop sign it takes a jog to the right and becomes Verona Rd.  Rose Hill will be on your right, right across from the Seventh Day Adventist  church.

From I 69, exit 36 (Michigan Ave).  Go east. Go though the first light and continue traveling east to Fountain Street (located on the left next to a Chinese restaurant.)  Turn left (north) on Fountain Street for two blocks to Verona Rd. Turn left on Verona, and Rose Hill will be on your right (about 50 ft.).
