Saravilla Bed & Breakfast

Saravilla is a three-story Dutch Colonial home built in 1894 and was originally a summer cottage for a prominent Michigan family. Located right in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula, Saravilla is near Mt. Pleasant, Central Michigan University, and Soaring Eagle Casino, and an easy drive to numerous golf courses and other recreational and cultural attractions.

Listed on the Michigan Historic Register, Saravilla boasts imported period woodwork, original wallcoverings, period light fixtures, leaded glasswork, and magnificent craftsmanship throughout. With its landscaped grounds, inviting front porch, landmark turret, and 1200-square foot ballroom, Saravilla delights our guests with the grace and charm of an era gone by.

Saravilla features seven air-conditioned guest rooms, all with private baths. All rooms have TVs and several have wood-burning fireplaces. Spacious common areas available to all guests include a 1,200 square foot ballroom with a ping pong table, fully equipped kitchen, sunroom with hot tub, billiard room with a pool table, parlor, library, large foyer, and dining room. Enjoy the wrap around front porch or back deck which overlooks the garden and pond.

Awaken in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and the prospect of a delightful breakfast with fresh fruit and pastry and hot entrees. At your leisure, join us for breakfast on fine china by the fire in our elegant turret dining room. And the rest of your day? Relax before the fireplace in the library, linger on the broad front porch, play a game of pool, or unwind in our hot tub.

Saravilla offers an excellent location for various group gatherings. We are located right in the middle of Michigan's lower peninsula, at the crossroads of US127 and M46, and an easy drive from everywhere. With our seven very spacious guest rooms, we can provide overnight accommodations for up to twenty-three people.

Guests have use of nearly 4,000 sq, ft. of meeting space on the first floor. We're a great place for scrapbooking, stitching, quilting, or any other craft gathering. Saravilla is also a great place to hold reunions, holiday gatherings, weddings, and receptions.

Southbound on US-127; or East or West on M-46
Take Business 127/M-46 exit. Go south on Alger Rd. 1.7 miles (it becomes Wright Ave.) to Orchard St. (three blocks past Masonic Pathways). Turn left and go four blocks.

Northbound on US-127
Take Business 127 west into Alma. Go straight (this becomes Superior St.) 3 miles to State St. Turn right and go 3 blocks.

Saravilla is on the southwest corner of Orchard and State Streets. Ample parking in the rear (off Orchard). Just look for our turret and the boulder in our front yard.
