  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Nancy for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

Travelers come and stay with us because they are looking for a romantic and/or relaxing getaway. There are many honeymooners and couples that stay with us for special anniversaries.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

We are best known for our romantic and quiet atmosphere. People also know us for our delicious breakfast.   I feel that we are unique because we are located in a charming historic district and much of our décor matches our circa 1845 date.  We have many beautiful antiques throughout the house and guest rooms.  I love the style and décor of the B&B as it makes me feel like I am back in time.

If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

The #1 reason to visit this area is because Bass River Village in South Yarmouth is a historic area located on the beautiful Bass River. The area is filled with plenty of things for tourists to enjoy.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

We receive many compliments, but we really love it when people tell us how pristine our inn is kept inside and out.

What’s the best kept secret about the area?

We are very close to everything from upscale to casual dining. There's plenty of shopping and folks can enjoy the many seashore beaches. However, as soon as you turn into Bass River Village, you will discover a charming area that is quiet and well kept. That where you will find our own beautiful private beach,The Bass River Beach.

If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?

For those staying for longer than a weekend, we recommend various attractions including the beaches and national seashore, whale watching, going on a river boat tour, and kayaking along the river. There are several wonderful nature and whaling museums as well as the JFK Museum and the Glass Museum. Travelers will enjoy visiting Provincetown for a day, the islands of Nantucket and/or a trip to Martha's Vineyard. The ferries are just a 15 minute drive from us! Try wine tasting at local vineyards, go biking along our "rail trail" and enjoy the many dining options as well as antiquing and shopping.

Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

The Bass River is within walking distance as is some dining options and some charming shops.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

We recommend The Ocean House in Dennisport and The Yarmouth House in Yarmouth. They both serve wonderful seafood.
