    Why do most travelers stay at your inn?

    Just an hour from Boston, the Emerson Inn is in beautiful Pigeon Cove with stunning ocean views. Our on-site restaurant, The Pigeon Cove Tavern is perfect for a quick bite or a relaxing dinner after a day on the town or on the sea.

    What are you best known for?   What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

    We are best known for our attention to detail, beautiful surroundings, personable staff, great food & service, lovely accommodations. Our old-world charm with up-to date amenities makes us unique. The feeling of comfort, tranquility, and a break from the hurried pace of life is what we love most about our inn.

    If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

    Rockport has beautiful ocean views and small town charm.

    What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

    The best compliments are: guests who do not want to leave and are looking forward to next year’s visit! But also, “felt at home”, “friendly faces”, “warm welcome”, “home away from home” “great time”.

    Visit the local shops, galleries, museums, working waterfront, performances, whale watch trip, schooner sail.

    Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?

    All within 2 miles: Halibut State Park, Pigeon Cove working harbor, Granite Pier, Downtown Rockport – shops & galleries, Shalin Lu Performance Center.

    What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

    Pigeon Cove Tavern!, Blue Lobster, Red Skiff, My Place by the Sea, Lobsta Land. Favorite food - fresh local seafood: lobster!

    In the off-season (winter and spring), breakfast include a hearty continental buffet, including:

    Our award-winning culinary staff and professional wedding coordinators attend over the small details, so you can relax and enjoy your wedding by the ocean. And, we offer exceptional wedding packages to help with your planning and budgeting. You will find our inn to be the perfect location for ocean wedding destinations. 

    Lovely banquet rooms can accommodate a seaside wedding reception of 150 guests. Wedding menus vary from lavish to informal, and food can be customized to meet the needs and wedding themes of the bride and groom. In 2005, Emerson Inn was awarded the first liquor license in Rockport since 1933, and an extensive wine list along with popular spirits are now available. While we promote afternoon and early evening receptions, alternate arrangements may be discussed.

    Driving Directions

    1. Take Route 128 North to Gloucester
    2. Follow Route 128 through to two rotaries
    3. Turn left onto Route 127 North at the traffic light
    4. Continue approximately 4 miles (staying on Route 127)
    5. Take a sharp left at Rockport's five corners (again remaining on Route 127)
    6. Follow signs to Pigeon Cove
    7. Continue approximately 2 miles and turn right on to Phillips Avenue at the Emerson Inn Sign

    From Boston's Logan Airport

    1. Take Route 1A North to Route 60 West
    2. 60 West to Route 1 North
    3. Route 1 North will get you to 128 north, then follow directions at the top

    Although we are easy to reach by car, Rockport also has good rail service from North Station in Boston. Complimentary shuttle service is available to and from the Rockport Train Station.
