  • Introduction

Carpe Diem - Provincetown, MassachusettsProvincetown is a magical spot that has always attracted writers, artists, and other creative people looking for unforgettable moments in life. We dedicate our Provincetown inn, the Carpe Diem Guesthouse, to poets who seized the inspiration of special places like our little town. A stay at Carpe Diem brings our guests closer to the soul of Provincetown - and hopefully they will come across one of those unique moments in life at our Provincetown guesthouse.

The Walt Whitman common room is a wonderful place to relax, read a good book, meet people or chat with new friends. Wood floors are a highlight of this room that features antique furnishings and paintings. There is ample space for relaxation, whether it is lounging in an armchair as the fireplace flickers in the background, or reading the latest novel and sipping a glass of complimentary Sherry or Port while sitting in one of the comfortable sofas. Afternoon refreshments as well as wine and cheese are being served in the Walt Whitman room or on one of the outside patios.

    The Inn Keepers

Rainer and Jürgen moved to Provincetown from Cologne, Germany in November 1997 to open their Provincetown Inn. After leaving behind their careers in fashion and magazine journalism, Rainer and Jurgen commit themselves full-time to their work at the popular Provincetown lodging.

Hans joined the two in May 2002. He graduated from Hotel Management and Marketing Schools in France, his home country. He has worked in 5-Star Hotels in England, Cyprus and Luxembourg and is happy to have found his new home at one of the most sought after Provincetown inns.

      Namaste SpaNamaste Spa

At Namaste Spa, we aim to provide a comfortable environment for the guests at our Provincetown guesthouse to experience deep relaxation and reconnect with body and soul. You will be able to enjoy a wonderful array of spa experiences that allow you to feel the benefits of heat, steam, touch and aromas.

Namaste, pronounced Nah-Mah-stay, translates to "The spirit in me meets the spirit in you" and recognizes the equality of all. We pride ourselves on offering unique services to patrons looking for a serene retreat in a Provincetown accommodation.

    Breakfast Time

What sets us apart from other Provincetown lodgings is our homemade German-style breakfast. Every morning the dining table is a meeting place for all guests who like a good cup of coffee and a nice chat with friendly people. You will always find several kinds of homemade breads, bagels, croissants, müsli, muffins, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, jams, cold cuts such as smoked turkey breast and cheese, orange juice, coffee, and a wide variety of teas. We also prepare farm fresh organic eggs cooked to order, as well as highlights such as Belgian waffles, pancakes, quiche, omelets, frittata, or other treats.

    Daily Wine Hour

As a nice tradition, we have sherry and port available all day in the Walt Whitman common room of the Carpe Diem for a little nightcap or to toast the beginning of a perfect vacation. Also, every afternoon we invite our guests to a social gathering to enjoy a glass of wine together. This daily happy hour is a perfect opportunity to meet new friends also staying at this Provincetown inn to exchange some restaurant tips or just start off the evening the right way.
