A Beach House Oceanfront Bed & Breakfast
A few more wildlife photos 7 May 2015, 5:43 pm
Just to keep everyone in the loop of the animals we have around. Our recent guests shared some photos that we thought you might like to see.
We love when the cormorants shake their feathers
And some birds floating and enjoying the weather
But, our absolute favorite…….we see lots of seals in the winter, as those of you who follow us know. Rick got a great shot of one falling off the rocks in to the water.
Thank you, Rick, for sharing the shots. More whale video to follow soon.
Whales and birds 3 May 2015, 11:25 am
The new long lens has not arrived yet, but we had a beautiful weekend with lots of whales and birds. We hope to get some better photos soon.
The weather seems to be turning and the guests have been enjoying the scenery.
The long, cold winter seems to be ending 6 Apr 2015, 6:33 pm
This truly has been a long, cold winter. We had more snow than we could imagine, survived the blizzard with minimal damage (the outdoor shower blew off the house and the beach stairs floated up three houses down totally mangled). Thankfully, we only lost power for a few hours, but access on the road and the driveway were quite limited for a while.
The last of the snow melted from the driveway last week even though there are still a few piles in the woods on the road, and we are finally beginning to see signs of spring.
The new shingles on the house are almost done and new doors and a new outdoor shower have been ordered.
Sadly, we had to turn away some winter business because we were often unsure if people could actually get here to see us, but the view remained beautiful–especially when we had ice in the bay.
We saw our first signs of crocus growth, so spring seems to be really here. It may be a while before the lawn looks lush, but reservations have been coming in and we are looking forward to welcoming old and new guests soon.
Hoping that you all survived the winter unscathed.
The day after….. 25 Oct 2014, 4:08 pm
The day after the nor’easter brought a beautiful sunrise. Still some waves rolling in, but thankfully no storm damage.
A beautiful Fall weekend here, lots of people heading to the cape today. Soon it will be Thanksgiving! Planning a few winter projects, but we will still be open.
Fall Festivals are Starting 25 Sep 2014, 11:12 am
New Bedford is one of our favorite nearby towns. It is not as big a tourist destination as Boston or Cape Cod, but all of the guests we send there really like it. There is a whaling museum, great Portuguese food, and one of our favorite shopping destinations, New England Salvage. New Bedford is also still a working fishing port. Next weekend is The Working Waterfront Festival. It raises money for a great cause and looks like it will be a great time. Even though we won’t be going this year because we have guests, if you are in the neighborhood, go check it out!
We will remain open in the off-season, still doing more work on the B&B. We would love to see you here.
Heading in to Fall 15 Sep 2014, 12:31 pm
We are thrilled to continue to be busy for the next couple of weeks with some old and some new visitors. The days have been mostly sunny and the nights cool. Just wanted to share a photo of last night’s beautiful sunrise.
Enjoy the season!
Another beautiful day for breakfast outside by the sea 30 Aug 2014, 7:11 am
Gorgeous weather for breakfast outside. On the menu today, overstuffed vegetable omelets with basil from the garden.
Hoping you are all enjoying the holiday weekend and that we will see you soon.

Another beautiful sunrise 18 Aug 2014, 7:57 am
We had another photographer visit, more gorgeous sunrise shots (thank you Al from Rhode Island). The days have been warm, and the nights are cool, great sleeping weather.
Hoping you are all enjoying the summer.
Beautiful day for a wedding……. 9 Aug 2014, 7:14 am
Yesterday was a gorgeous day, perfect for getting ready for a wedding. After breakfast, hair and makeup for the girls, then a photo shoot before heading off.
It was great to be a part of the preparations for a beautiful bride.
Hoping you are enjoying the summer as well!
A Busy Start to the Summer Season 20 Jul 2014, 7:26 am
We have had a very busy start to the season. A lot of activity from weddings at White Cliffs Country Club, just down the road. A wedding party, then some guests for another wedding. Visitors from Ireland, Belgium, and across the US. Above you see the start of a clambake from Captain D at Rock Bottom Seafood. Clam Chowder followed by massive portions of food with a choice of lobster, chicken or steak. A fun time was had by all.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
