Romance Awaits You At Alexander Hamilton House Cape Cod

Our Mashpee bed & breakfast offers three guest rooms on Cape Cod. All are spacious, romantic, and private.

The guest space, the "Carriage Suite on the Cape", is over the garage and accessed by its own private entrance. Situated on an acre of natural Cape Cod land, a 450 foot meandering path leads to the shore of& Ashumet Pond. Although Massachusetts calls every freshwater body of water a pond, most would think this is a lake. It covers 204 acres, almost a mile across, and 76 feet deep on the deep side. Luckily, the shoreline is a very gradually sloping sandy beach, with water so clear, guests have a perfect view of the life below. The setting is tranquil, like being "On Golden Pond."

Your host,Steven Lefton, relocated to Mashpee in 2006. For 25 years, Steve's late wife Barbara ran an eight guestroom inn, The Alexander Hamilton House in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. She called Ashumet Pond, "The land time forgot." Swim in the pond from May thru October and boat there until almost November. Bring your boat. There is a boat launch a short distance away and enjoy kayaking, sailing or a small motor boat.

  • Pets Welcome

    Alexander Hamilton House Cape Cop

We Love Our Fuzzy Friends. We are a dog friendly B&B. That said, if you don't take the dog with you, we provide a crate for dog with you when you leave the room. We have a large kennel down by the shore so that you can leave the dog safely behind while you are on or in our pond. If the dog barks and will disturb others, you will be asked to keep the dog with you. Should you take your dog to a public beach (not permitted April 1 through September), keep these rules in mind. Between October 1 and April 1st, dogs are usually permitted at the Beaches. They must be leashed at all times. You must be careful not to let them disturb people, nesting birds or stranded seals. The Endangered Species Act protects the piping plover and you are likely to be reported, caught and fined should your dog do this. Pooper-scooper bags are usually found at trail heads. Make sure to clean-up after your dog. Dog waste can contaminate sensitive shellfish beds. Cape Cod takes this very seriously. On our property, we ask you to do the same. If you don't have bags, just ask us.

There is a wonderful horse farm less than 3 miles down the road. Should you travel with your horse, ask for boarding arrangements. There are wonderful trail through which to ride and, in winter, you can ride on beaches, too.
