2015 Berkshire Summer Schedules: Shakespeare & Company 25 Feb 2015, 6:07 am

Located one block from Hampton Terrace is the Shakespeare & Company campus.   Many of our guests enjoy at least one play while attending concerts at Tanglewood, checking out the latest offerings at our world-class museums, like the Normal Rockwell Museum, MassMoca or the Clark Art Institute.   Or touring historic homes, such as Naumkeag, Ventfort Hall or The Mount.

We Interrupt Winter to Bring You Summer... Tanglewood and Lenox 18 Feb 2015, 4:05 pm

In 1979, while on our honeymoon, my wife Susan was plucked out of a hotel lobby to star in a Coca Cola commercial.   It began, "We interupt winter to bring you summer...."

Skiing in the Berkshires. Should You Stay at an Inn? 8 Feb 2015, 1:59 pm

Eight rooms checked out of Hampton Terrace this morning.   Looking back, I noticed that five of them were here to enjoy skiing in the Berkshires.

Two were mother-daughter pairs, who stayed here while attending classes at Kripulu, the Yoga institute down the street.   That is a subject for another day.

Hi Stan.   I am sure you can't remember us but we think about our stay at your place in 2011 quite often.   I took many photos....including your wonderful garden.   If ever we come to your area again we will make sure to stay at your place again as we really had a wonderful time there.

With Best Regards

Food Network's "America's Top Mixologist" Makes Us a Manhattan 25 Nov 2014, 2:17 pm

You just never know who you'll meet at breakfast at Hampton Terrace.   Last weekend, I was having a conversation with a nice couple, who were celebrating their honeymoon here.   They had come in around 8 the night before from NYC and asked where they should grab dinner.   "I am kinda a foodie," the husband had offered, so I recommended Nudel.

At breakfast, the couple quickly volunteered how impressed they had been with their meal, and comparisons to Food Network Shows like "Chopped" and "Iron Chef" came up.   ..Names like Geoffrey Zakarian and Marcus Samuelson.   The wife offered that her husband had worked with them all.   It did not take me long to find out that her husband, Brian, is currently in a partnership with Chef Zakarian to open a new bar in the Plaza Hotel in New York, called The Palm Court.

Lenox Collaborations: Hampton Terrace and MacKimmie Co. 23 Oct 2014, 12:57 pm

Collaborations are usually win/win.   Hampton Terrace is walking distance from a number of REALLY interesting shops.   Usually it is easy to forget that, as we tout the merits of our local historic houses, theaters, museums, restaurants, spas and outdoor activities.

Doris and Vytas Barsauskas relocated MacKimmie Co. Home and Gift from Marblehead, Massachusetts to Lenox earlier in the year.   They sell high-end designer throws, blankets, pillows and loungewear - a perfect thing to consider now that Lenox is dipping below freezing.
