Neoclassical in style, the bed and breakfast inn holds many Old World architectural features. The Tiffany-style leaded rose windows which flank the entrance were created in France. The balconied, wraparound staircase in the entrance hall was built on designs from Stanford White. The Inn and Restaurant form a stunning backdrop for weddings, portraits, rehearsal dinners, and other special events.

The inn's 11 guest rooms, recently restored, are each uniquely inviting. Choose from accommodations with romantic canopy, brass, or sleigh beds and cozy fireplaces. Each guest room has a private bath and is adorned with original touches and comfortable furnishings. Feel the romance and charm of the Berkshire Room, warm up by the fireplace in the Proctor Room, or be transported to ancient Scotland in the Iverness Room with its Tudor-style, queen-sized canopy bed. Regardless of which room you choose, you will be reminded of a more relaxed, more enchanted time. Breakfast, included in Gateways' rates, is prepared every morning using the finest of ingredients.

Arthur Fiedler Suite The most luxurious of rooms, features a large sitting room and a very spacious bedroom separated by French doors hung with Venetian lace curtains. Both rooms feature a log-burning fireplace. Antique sage walls invite serenity and elegance throughout the suite. From the French Aubusson print bedding and the antique armoire in the bedroom to the plush deep-green sofas and the Mahogany library with dry-bar, the Suite is a subtly luxurious room. The bathroom, with the original corner marble sink, Italian marble-tiled floor, a large tub with Jacuzzi, adjoining dressing room and plush white terry robes, evokes a spa-like experience.

Dining at the Gateways offers a menu of Creative and Contemporary American dishes, showcasing the talents of the Chef and staff. The philosophy of the Gateways Inn is to utilize the finest and freshest products available, with the seasonal menu reflecting this goal. Rosemary Chiariello has the quiet ability to make you feel as if she were one of your oldest friends, a characteristic which all of the Inn's guests appreciate. She brings to the Inn her artist's eye, finely tuned during her many years in the fashion industry in New York.

Berkshire Weddings & Special Events

The Gateways Inn is the perfect place to celebrate special occasions year-round. We specialize in elegant weddings, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, luncheons or teas and business meetings. Anniversary or birthday parties become even more special when held at the Gateways Inn.

Ceremonies

Our window enclosed terrace room adjacent to our Rockwell dining room is perfect for wedding ceremonies for up to 50 guests. For couples seeking a cozier atmosphere, our beautiful lobby area can accommodate a ceremony for up to 80 guests.

Receptions & Dinner Events

La Terrazza's large main dining room can seat up to 80 guests. Its rich terra-cotta painted walls hold lovely antique French and Italian paintings. The champagne beige table linens highlight the tableware, fine china and silver. Adjoining our main dining room is our Rockwell dining room which can accommodate an additional to 20 guests. French doors on each side of its fireplace lead to and from the main dining room. Our terrace room is the perfect space for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and/or desserts, accommodating up to 125 guests when opened up to the bar area for a cocktail hour.

Event Catering

The Chef at La Terrazza Restaurant works with each couple and group to create a menu that fits their unique taste and style. As a member of Berkshire Grown, she strives to use the freshest locally grown ingredients available. If you are interested in viewing menu options, we have an extensive Special Event Dinner Menu that lists the variety of choices available. In addition to a customized menu, we also offer customized beverage options ranging from beer/wine to full open bar. La Terrazza's award winning bar is known for its extensive selections of Italian wines and grappas as well as single malt Scotch whisky.
