Applegate Bed & Breakfast

Once the estate's master bedroom, Room One is the largest in the inn. This elegant suite stretches the entire width of the building providing outstanding views to north, east and west. The massive wooden four-poster king-size bed provides a comfortable night's sleep after a day of exploring Lenox and the Berkshires region. Matching end tables, a dresser, an armoire containing a TV and VCR, a CD player and a comfortable love seat are also located within this tastefully decorated chamber.

A welcoming sitting area offers a queen-size convertible couch, four wingback chairs, a table and a small desk. The centerpiece of the space is a working wood-burning fireplace. Wood and fire starters are provided. A large closet features a refrigerator and coffeemaker. Those seeking ultimate relaxation can unwind with a soothing steam shower in the spacious private bathroom.

Imagine sinking into a four-poster queen-sized canopy bed luxuriously adorned in white lace. Room Two offers guests a comfortable, yet truly decadent experience. Two pine night tables, an antique oak dresser with a gigantic mirror, two easy chairs and a gas fireplace easily controlled by a thermostat add to the understated charm of the room. The walls of Room Two are papered and painted in a relaxing peach color and are adorned with cherubs. The windows face west with views of impressive stands of pines and the Berkshire sunsets. A private restroom features a vanity sink, tub/shower combination and a toilet.

A French reproduction queen-sized sleigh bed highlights this bright, sunny room with its eastern and southern exposure. This room, with its mantled fireplace, has views of Applegate's expansive lawns and towering pine trees. This inviting room also features a cozy corner sitting area with two wing back chairs and a table perfect for enjoying that novel you have been meaning to read.

A wood-burning fireplace which guests can use with Duraflame logs, well-appointed night tables, a dresser with a mirror and other thoughtful touches are located throughout the room. The bathroom is equipped with a pedestal sink, toilet and a tub/shower combination.

Relaxation awaits you in the cheery blue and white wallpapered Room Four. Whether you choose to retire to the queen-size antique white iron bed or relax in one of the two white wicker chairs, you will enjoy this room's cottage ambiance. A white wicker dresser outfitted with a mirror provides great storage for your clothing and purchases. Well appointed lamps, electric wood stove and a western view of tall pines and Berkshire sunsets await you in this wonderful room. The large bathroom features a tub/shower combination, pedestal sink and a toilet.

Warmly decorated in lavenders and greens, this sun-filled room provides the ultimate escape for guests. Room Five features a great view of the inn's manicured lawns from four windows with east and south exposures. A queen-size four-poster canopy bed of tiger maple encourages guests to relax. The room is elegantly decorated with two night tables, two wingback chairs and a dresser with a mirror. A gas fireplace with a thermostat creates a homey atmosphere. A private bathroom includes a modern pedestal sink, toilet and shower.

Cozy and comfortable are the words that best describe Room Six. This room is the inn's smallest room and contains spectacular angular ceilings highlighted by dark green patterned wallpaper. An impressive queen-size antique Victorian bed, matching marble-topped dresser, settee and electric wood stove are features of this tastefully decorated room. A private bathroom is equipped with a pedestal sink, toilet and a tub/shower combination.

Located on the third floor, this room features large windows and a French door that leads to the balcony. An antique bronze-framed king-size bed adorned with fine linens promises guests will have a restful night's sleep. To further promote relaxation we hope guests will take advantage of an antique soaking tub, which overlooks impressive stands of pine, our vast lawn and the Berkshire Hills. Located on the third floor, Room Eight has large windows and a French door leading out to a furnished private balcony overlooking towering trees, our vast lawn and the Berkshire Hills. This suite contains a comfortable wooden four-poster king-size bed, two matching night tables with lamps, an electric fireplace, a love seat that converts to a single bed, matching ottomans and a table and chairs. A wet bar with a refrigerator, coffeemaker, art deco vanity, microwave and a television and VCR built into the wall are also features of this room. The suite has a private oversized marble bathroom. Its large vanity sink contains many drawers to store your toiletry items. The whirlpool tub for two by the large curved windows and under the sky lights is a great way to relax after a day sightseeing. The candelabras by the tub provide romantic accents to the suite. The bath also includes a stall shower and a toilet.

Watch the flames flicker in the gas fireplace from your four-poster king-size bed. Or take in the beauty of the outdoors from your private patio. Room Nine is a luxurious suite located on the first floor of the Carriage House. Night tables with lamps, a vanity, a table and chairs and a love seat that converts to a single bed provide all the comforts of home. A wet bar with refrigerator, a coffeemaker, a microwave and a built-in TV with a VCR are features of the room. The private bathroom includes an antique reproduction vanity sink, a toilet, a two-person whirlpool and a stall shower.

Relaxing has never been easier, simply reserve Room Ten today. This elegant, handicapped accessible suite, located on the first floor of our Carriage House, features an antique bronze king-size bed with matching night tables with lamps. Write a postcard to friends at the sewing machine table vanity or curl up on the love seat that converts to a single bed while flames dance in the room's gas fireplace. Be sure to step outside onto your private patio to enjoy the peaceful outdoors. This room also contains a wet bar with refrigerator, a coffee maker, a microwave and a built-in TV/VCR combination for your convenience. The private bathroom includes a vanity sink, toilet, double-occupancy whirlpool tub and stall shower.

Let the Carriage House Cottage be your home away from home when staying at The Applegate Inn. This two-bedroom suite contains two queen-size beds and dressers and mirrors. The cottage living room features a television and VCR tastefully hidden in the wall, electric fireplace, kitchen facilities with a dishwasher, a dining area and its own furnished private deck that overlooks the Berkshire Hills. The cottage has a full bathroom with a vanity sink, toilet and a combination whirlpool tub/shower.

Minimum Stays - On weekends, a 2 night stay is required during the months of June, September, and October at our Stockbridge MA bed and breakfast. Likewise, a two night weekend stay is required in November through May in guestrooms with fireplaces. A 3 or 4 night stay is necessary on all weekends during the months of July and August and on all 3-day holiday weekends which fall throughout the year. There are times when scheduling allows shorter stays at our Berkshires MA bed and breakfast.

• Deposits - A one-night deposit is expected for one night bookings at our Lenox Bed and Breakfast. 50% of the stay is required for stays of 2 of more nights. The full payment is due if guests arrive after and/or depart before the original dates specified on the reservation at our Massachusetts Bed and Breakfast.
• Cancellations - For cancellations with at least 14 days notice (30 days in July and August) prior to arrival date, deposits will be refunded less a $50 cancellation fee (10% of the total visit in July & August with a minimum of $50) per guestroom. With less than 14 days notice (30 days in July & August) your deposit is forfeit. Payment is obliged for the entire scheduled visit, even if circumstances cause you to arrive late or leave early. These are the cancellation policies for our Berkshires Bed and Breakfast.
• Check in is 2:00 PM and check out is 11:00 AM.
• Personal checks, cash, VISA, MasterCard and AMEX are accepted. A 9.7% Room Tax will be added to the rate.
• Prices are based on double occupancy, an extra person in room is $30.00 per evening at our Bed and Breakfast Berkshires.
• While guests over 12 years of age are always welcome, we also accept younger children in certain suites.
• We too love animals, but we must enforce a "no pet" policy.
• Smoking is not permitted indoors at Applegate.
