    We are located just 1/4 mile up the hill from one of North America's most outstanding beaches, the famous, sand-duned, Nauset Beach, the southernmost beach on the Cape Cod National Seashore.

    Owned by the Butcher family since 1968, the Inn is currently operated by Peter and Denise Butcher, the second generation to choose the Inn as their home, opened to guests for a delightful visit to Cape Cod. Come share your vacation with us. And in turn, let us share Cape Cod with you.

    The warm, lantern-lit doorways of Ship's Knees Inn invite the traveler to step inside and enjoy a unique lodging experience. Each of the sixteen guest rooms is individually decorated in a distinctly nautical style with special colonial color schemes and authentic antiques to enhance the "Yankee" atmosphere.
    Hand-painted trunks, old clipper ship models, braided rugs and four-poster beds are just a few of the delightful accents to be found in the Inn's 16 guest rooms. Some of the rooms have ocean views and the master suite has a working fireplace. There are several rooms that feature authentic ship's knees - blocks of wood shaped or cut to serve as brackets used to fasten and strengthen deck beams to the frames of wooden vessels.
    Comfortable, individually decorated rooms, wireless Internet access, continental breakfast, in-ground swimming pool, lush green lawns, colorful gardens and ample parking are all yours to enjoy.

    Orleans is bordered on two sides by salt water, notched by Pleasant Bay and spotted with fresh water lakes. Nauset Beach is walking distance from the Inn, where you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean at its best.

    Directions to Ship's Knees Inn
    • From the Sagamore Bridge, take Route 6 (Mid Cape Highway) 35 miles to the Orleans exit #12.
    • Turn right at the end of the ramp on to Route 6A.
    • Follow to 1st traffic light & take a right on Eldredge Parkway.
    • Follow 1 mile to 2nd set of traffic lights & take a right on to Main Street.
    • Follow Main Street 1-1/2 miles to fork in the road and bear left on to Beach Road.
    • Follow 1.2 miles & the Ship's Knees will be on your left.
