The Sail Makers Loft
Located on the third floor of our Hotel, this apartment has an updated kitchen, dining area, living area, separate bedroom, separate bathroom, satelite television and above all, beautiful views of the Wicomico River from all directions. Plan a vacation or a two night get-away. Unlike our other seven bedrooms, this apartment has a two-night minimum. We are certain that you will enjoy it so much that two nights won't be enough.

The Victorian BedroomThe Hotel was expanded in 1890 as economic activity flourished, including shipbuilding, oystering and farming. The steamships that plied the Chesapeake Bay provided a steady stream of passengers. The Victorian Bedroom was built for the innkeeper himself in high Victorian Style including red wallpaper with gold edging. Today it is papered with a William Morris pattern and appointed with antiques including a marble topped mahony dressing table. It has a private bath (shower only), working fireplace and semi-private access to the screened porch that overlooks the marsh. The bay and side windows look directly onto the river.
The Federal BedroomCirca 1810, the Hotel consisted only of the center section of today's building. At that time it had two stories with side hallway and a gambrel roof, in classic Eastern shore design. The Whitehaven Ferry, operating since 1685, brought horse and buggy passengers right to its front door step and the Hotel functioned as a tavern with rooms for overnight guests. The Federal Bedroom dates to 1810 and features false grained woodwork, working fireplace, wide planked loblolly pine floors and private bath (clawfoot tub with overhead shower). The room looks directly over the Wicomico River.
The Garden Bedroom
The Garden Bedroom share access to a wonderful screened porch over looking the marsh and river. Recent guests watched two eagles fight with an osprey near the nesting platform thirty feet away. We're pleased to report that all was resolved with no harm to the disputing parties. It has a queen size bed. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower arrangement.

The Lincoln Bedroom This spacious room with its own kitchen is located on the North side of the Hotel overlooking the marsh on two sides. The private bath features both a victorian clawfoot tub and a separate shower. The room is perfect for visitors staying in Whitehaven for a few days. Trundle or cot - $10. Dog - $10.
