May Wedding at Antrim 1844 | Natalie + Brian 9 Sep 2014, 3:53 pm

“As the reception winded down Julia (a bridesmaid) and I stood together on the outskirts of the reception talking briefly about how perfect the day was. As Julia watched her beautiful friend dance with her new groom she said it was so perfect because it was genuine. That everything about the day was a true reflection of Natalie and Brian. I nodded in agreement thinking back to all the details of their day .. the hilarious and heartfelt toasts from their family and friends, the handwritten notes that accompanied each table setting, the giant hugs and genuine laughter. It was an honor to be able to document their love story.”

Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel Welcomes Ruben Cambero 1 Sep 2014, 2:05 pm

Antrim 1844 is pleased to announce the arrival of Ruben Cambero as the new General Manager of Antrim 1844 Country House Hotel. Ruben’s goal is to delight Antrim’s guests and invite them to discover the pleasures of the fine art of living, or “art de vivre”, as a journey of awakening the senses with truly authentic, intimate and unique experiences. “Our property is the perfect place to turn any day into a lifetime memory.”

Ruben grew up in Spain in a well-respected hospitality family where he developed the passion and soul of the Innkeeper through life-long, hands-on experience. He brings remarkable flavor, as well as European roots and culture to his new venture with Antrim 1844 and the Smokehouse Restaurant. His parents currently run several gourmet restaurants, including Nina & Angelo and Michelin Starred, located on the Mediterranean Coast.

Happily married to Amaya, his high school sweetheart, Ruben is the proud father of two lovely children, Paula and Nicolas.

In 2002, after living in Sweden as part of an International Exchange program pursuing his bachelor in Business Administration, Ruben joined Hotel el Peregrino, his parents’ luxury boutique hotel, a subsidiary of the prestigious Relais & Château. As General Manager of hotel el Peregrino, he was responsible for managing daily property operations with an emphasis on memorable guest experiences.

“Moving from Spain to the United States is the adventure I always wanted to experience with my family, and I couldn’t have found a better place and a better team than Antrim’s. I found the true spirit of hospitality in Richard and Dort when I met them, and I immediately fell in love with the property.”

Ruben’s passions include discovering new places and a love for fine wine and cuisine, pursuits that he shares with his children: “There is nothing more exciting than to observe children who love the new sensory-rich experiences of cuisine.”

"Adam and Katie are down to earth, music loving, free spirits and the Antrim was the absolute perfect location for their wedding. They were married under a giant tree, which made for a perfect balance of romantic and organic backdrops. I could have photographed this venue for days.

And just when I thought their wedding couldn't get any better Adam surprised Katie .. as well as all of their guests .. with an amazing fireworks display halfway through the reception. It was an unforgettable wedding and an honor to document for them."

March Wedding at Antrim 1844 | Jane + Will 21 Jul 2014, 1:59 pm

I knew Will and Jane’s wedding day was going to be amazing from the first time we met.  Will and Jane are just so full of love so I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to have on a rainy wedding day at Antrim 1844.  While the entire venue is gorgeous outside, because of the weather, we spent a fair amount of time shooting in door.  Of course, I had to sneak them outside for a romantic, heavy rain, umbrella portrait.  Adventurous couples are the best!  Thank you to the entire staff of Antrim 1844 for providing such a beautiful venue and a memorable day.

 -- Shane Reighard, Reighard Photography

Will and Jane are such a beautiful couple- inside and out. I am so lucky to have had the chance to work with them throughout the planning process and to help them on their BIG day!  Even the weather couldn’t bring this awesome couple down!  I would like to personally thank Will and Jane for choosing Antrim 1844 to host their gorgeous wedding.  I wish you all the best!

Joseph Phelps Vineyards

In the late 1960’s, Joseph Phelps was running one of the largest construction companies in the U.S., Hensel Phelps Construction Company, when he won the bid to build Souverain Winery (now Rutherford Hill) located a few miles outside of St. Helena. Enamored with the beautiful Napa Valley and contemplating a career change. In 1972, Joe bought the 600-acre Connolly cattle ranch in Spring Valley, and began planting vineyards and construction of a winery. The Joseph Phelps winery was completed in 1974 in time for harvest, crushing grapes for the first Insignia and the first Syrah bottlings. It put Joseph Phelps Vineyards on the map of top Napa Valley wine producers.

Four decades later, the flagship wine, Insignia, is recognized as one of the world’s greatest wines. Thirty-one of thirty-seven vintages have been rated 90 or more points by various wine publications, including three perfect 100 scores for the 1991, 1997 and 2002 vintages from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate in Mr. Parker’s Historical Tasting of Insignia report, published November 2013. The 2002 vintage of Insignia was also awarded “Wine of the Year” by Wine Spectator magazine in 2005.

Cotes de Provence Wine Region

Cotes de Provence is the largest appellation of the Provence wine region in south-eastern France. It covers roughly 50,000 acres of vineyards, which produce the vast majority of Provence’s rose wine. This appellation includes most of the viticulture in the Var department - essentially the eastern half of the Provence wine region - apart from 5560 acres due north of Toulon which is set aside for the Coteaux Varois appellation.

About Chateau du Rouet

The Chateau du Rouet is situated at the foot of the red rocks mountains which are part of the Esterel mountain - range, near the Roman town of Frejus. Five generations have succeeded each other on this Mediterranean soil to develop and master the most fitting techniques of wine growing and vinification which give aroma and character to the wines of the Chateau du Rouet. The selection of the best grape varieties for these acidic, forest soils enables the elaboration and maturing of red, rose and white. In the last ten years the wines “Chateau du Rouet” have obtained 22 medals at the Concours General Agricole in Paris, as well as the Concours des Grands Vins de France in Macon, notably 6 gold medals and 4 silver medals.

This 2013 Chateau du Rouet Rose is just one of the 2,600+ selections of wines available on our wine list. To view more, visit
