Whether you’re planning a vacation or a spontaneous getaway, a fantasy wedding or a quick business trip to Maryland, we offer you a level of hospitality, charm, comfort, and graciousness beyond any other type of lodging available. Break away from the usual hotels, motels, campgrounds, or other types of accommodations – and treat yourself. Experience something memorable, something romantic, something indulgent that helps you forget your problems, recharge your batteries, or create magic. Why not stay at one of the inns of the Maryland Bed & Breakfast Association? The cozy comfort of a feather bed, the heartwarming comfort of a fresh country breakfast, a romantic fireplace or moon-lit porch, pampering hospitality and attention, good company and relaxing afternoons – our bed and breakfasts say “welcome” to you in so many ways. The choice is yours, and our red carpet is rolled out for your arrival. You’ll find our member inns in settings ranging from serene to exciting, casual to luxurious, rural to urban, and historic to contemporary. We’re along the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, and we’re in the quaint towns and enchanting villages on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Mother Nature lures you to enjoy the pristine beauty, charm, and serenity that has been bestowed on Elkton, Chestertown, Rock Hall, Denton, and Grasonville to the north and Easton, St. Michael’s, Oxford, Cambridge, Royal Oak, Smith Island, Whitehaven, and Snow Hill to the south. Enjoy the beauty of Solomons, kissed by the Chesapeake, and relax in the tranquility that is a part of Lothian en route to Annapolis and Baltimore. Head toward the Central Region of the state, and you’ll also find us in Savage, Sykesville, New Windsor, and Linwood along with a host of wineries and historic attractions. In the hills and mountains of the Western Region, you’ll find us in Sharpsburg and Swanton. Western Maryland is nature’s wonderland, an array of picturesque mountains, state parks, and natural forests that are a palate of colors throughout the year. Deep Creek Lake welcomes boaters and water skiers in the warm weather, and Wisp Ski Resort welcomes skiers and tubers in the winter months. If you prefer to step back in time, explore the C&O Canal and Antietam National Battlefield.
Create your own Leisure & Learn getaway by combining our Maryland Bed and Breakfasts with the state’s scenic byways taking you through Maryland’s most spectacular scenery, picturesque towns, and landscapes that are woven into the fabric of our nation’s history. These highways are brimming with antique shops, early-morning farmers’ markets, wineries, and a host of historic sites and attractions. They are part of America’s Byways, designated as the most significant routes throughout the country, based on their scenery, culture, history, archaeology, and recreational opportunities.
Looking for a short interesting getaway? Maryland also offers you a choice of three-day itineraries across all the regions of the state - Western, Southern, Central, Capital, and Eastern Shore – while staying nearby at one of our quality inspected and approved inns. Perhaps a weekend of playing golf, hiking and biking, boating and fishing, treating the kids and family, or just enjoying Maryland’s scenic beauty is what you had in mind. Our inns are there to welcome you after a day of fun in the sun or on the water.

From our member inns, select a bed and breakfast as an alternative to hotels in Maryland when you visit the Capital Region near Washington D.C., and treat yourself to a memorable experience. From the beautiful covered bridges and scenic farmlands to the north, to the hustle and bustle of the large metropolis that surrounds our nation's capital, the Capital Region has something to offer visitors of all ages. Founded in 1745, Frederick County and downtown Frederick have played a role in every major chapter of American history. Located on the Mason Dixon Line, the county was the site of the Battle of South Mountain and the Battle of Monocacy. Towns were occupied by troops from both sides in the days before the nearby battles of Antietam and Gettysburg. The Appalachian Trail follows the western border of Frederick County for 40 of its 2,170 miles, much of them along South Mountain. To the north, the picturesque Catoctin Mountains serve as the setting for several parks and many local attractions you'll want to see. These parks offer recreational activities such as swimming, boating, camping, skating, and horseback riding, to mention a few. C&O Canal National Historic Park preserves the canal era when coal, lumber, and agricultural products floated down the Potomac River to market. A visit to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, the repository of exhibits and artifacts devoted to the technological and procedural advances made in the medical field during that period, makes for a great history lesson. To the south, Washington, DC is only a short distance away by the ever-convenient METRO train system. The Maryland Bed and Breakfast Association inns are approved and inspected with accommodations and hospitality found only with the B&B experience. Boyds
