Just minutes from Baltimore's Inner Harbor, museums, art galleries and fine dining and an hour from Washington D.C., the secluded location is even more treasured for its convenience!
A stay at Gramercy is not complete without enjoying a delicious breakfast prepared to order and included with your stay. A full American-style breakfast is served between 7:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. at individual tables for two in the first-floor dining room, on the covered terrace or in the privacy of your guest room. Wake up to fresh fruit and home-baked breads by innkeeper Bill, served with a hot cup of coffee, herbal and specialty teas, mulled cider and a variety of fruit juices. Guest favorite breakfast menu offerings include thick slices of Italian bread French toast, buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, bananas, apples and chocolate chips, and the house omelet with Shitake mushrooms, onions, cheese, tomatoes, and fresh organic herbs from the property’s Koinonia Farm in season. Vegan and children’s menus are available upon request. We will do our best to accommodate guests with any dietary restrictions or allergies – please notify us upon reservation or at check in.
Fresh Kosher bagels with cream cheese and juices from Goldberg’s New York Bagels are available for Kosher guests upon request and with advance notice.
After a sumptuous gourmet breakfast by the dining room inglenook or out on the terrace, guests may wish to linger on the expansive porches overlooking Greenspring Valley. Or they may take advantage of the olympic size pool and tennis court, stroll along extensive woodland trails, by Honeybrook stream, through the orchard, flower and herb gardens, or visit the organic farm.
In addition to five spacious main floor rooms with fireplaces, furnished with antiques, oriental carpets and artwork, the mansion offers high ceilings, a stunning grand staircase with 20' "picture" landing with magnificent chandelier, and a 17' x 53' terrace which is enclosed and heated in the wintertime.
All rooms include TV, fresh flowers, robes, coffee, tea, soda and a full gourmet breakfast, as well as use of the pool, tennis court, trails, etc. All rooms are non-smoking.
Gramercy's extensive landscaped gardens set the scene for romantic wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Mansion and grounds as well as a charming Carriage House may be reserved for corporate and private events year round.

Park the car, meet our innkeepers and stay awhile. There's much to see and do on the property at Gramercy and we invite you to relax, unwind and enjoy. Spend a lazy summer afternoon by the outdoor pool or curl up on a bench in the shade garden with your favorite book. Stroll through the landscaped gardens, have a swing on our old-fashioned rope swing (fun for kids of all ages!) or entertain the little ones on the wooden playground, tennis and basketball courts. Our 45-acre estate is home to Koinonia Organic Farm and also a wildlife preserve - ask to borrow our binoculars and spy many species of birds in the woodlands.
Looking to venture out? Pick up a brochure with our Greenspring Valley scenic driving tour and explore our federally-designated historic district.
Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Jennifer Sullivan for sharing her own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
Most travelers visit us to celebrate a special occasion (wedding, anniversary or birthday) with a romantic getaway. We also welcome visitors to local schools and hospitals.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
Gramercy is best known for its peacefully secluded location on 45 acres of woodlands and gardens... minutes from the attractions of Baltimore yet a world away. Anne, our owner, plans, designs and creates the stunning landscaped gardens and trails throughout the property and guests enjoy seasonal blooms from late-March through November. Our property is also home to Maryland's oldest organic farm, Koinonia Farm, specializing in culinary herbs that are distributed to local wholesalers. The historic Tudor mansion dates back to 1902 and features unique architectural details, original fireplaces with tile surrounds and hardwood floors. We love the country setting and charm and the romantic past of our historic B&B.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
Baltimore's unique neighborhoods offer such a wide variety of options for entertainment, dining, shopping and exploring history. From the pubs and restaurants lining the cobblestone streets of historic Fells Point to the nationally renowned Aquarium and Science Center in the heart of the Inner Harbor, up and coming shops in revitalized Harbor East and the lesser known historical attractions and venues in between, there is something for everyone.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
We've had the pleasure of welcoming so many wonderful people as our guests over the past 25+ years as a B&B with countless compliments. A recent TripAdvisor.com review that stands out follows: "The Gramercy Mansion isn't just a bed and breakfast or an inn... it's an experience. Nestled in the woods, we were 45 minutes from home but a WORLD AWAY. The staff welcomes you like an old friend, no worries, no stresses - all is taken care of."
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
While we are conveniently located just two miles from the highway, a short drive puts you in the middle of Maryland horse country. Greenspring Valley and the surrounding valleys are home to horse farms, historic farm houses some of which have been converted to fine restaurants, and family-owned wineries. Guests can pick up a guide for a driving tour of the valley to explore the area during their stay.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
I recommend spending at least one day exploring the property - walk the trails, visit the organic farm, lounge by the outdoor pool, enjoy massages onsite by our certified therapist, and order a dinner basket delivered to your room for a relaxing night in. Venture out the next day with a trip into Baltimore. Depending on your interests, take a walking tour of historic attractions or a Charm City food tour. Attend a sporting event at the Camden Yards Sports Complex or a show at the Hippodrome Theatre. Spend another day on an outdoor adventure with our horseback riding package in Patapsco State Park.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Because we are located in a pretty rural area, the best means of transportation is by car.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
There are some amazing restaurants nearby including the Oregon Grille, a luxuriously renovated 19th century stone farmhouse featuring prime dry-aged steak and grilled fare.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
