What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
This has truly been an all around AMA-ZA-ZING experience! We came here for our three-year anniversary and 1840s made our stay perfect every minute of the weekend! From the beautiful roses and rose petals scattered throughout our room with candles everywhere, to the comfort of the bed and luxury jacuzzi tub! Breakfast was amazing and service was fantastic all around! We so plan on coming back for another vacation to try out another gorgeous room! I feel so blessed to have been able to experience such a luxurious vacation! A break from the kids was what we needed! We will be referring others to 1840s! Thank you all for such wonderful service!!" -Sara & Jonathan
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Baltimore City has always been known as just a 'port-city', but the area has made a dramatic effort in constantly building up. Anyone who has an interest will be able to find a suitable interesting activity to wet their cultural palette including, but not limited to arts, history, leisure activities, science, pubs, restaurants, night-life, music and so much more!
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
I would start off by taking a trip over to the Visitor's Center so that the guest really understands the limitless options they have. I would recommend a Charm City Food Tour, Inner Harbor boat rides and activities, if weather permits, a trip to the National Aquarium, a visit to the neighborhoods for authentic cuisine (Harbor East, Little Italy, Historic Jonestown, Fells Points, Federal Hill, Canton), a night at Power Plant Live, a pub crawl and even a trip to the Walter's Art Gallery. There are just too many activities and things to do that it really depends on the person's unique interests.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
Historic Jonestown and Little Italy are just footsteps outside of our Inn's front doors! The restaurants in Little Italy are endless, and Historic Jonestown offers the Heritage Walk all around our property that is a great source of the history in the area.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
Little Italy is hands-down the best place to go for authentic Italian Cuisine (Amici's, Vacarro's, Della Notte, La Scala, La Tavola, jut to name a few).
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
