The Rutland Suite

$359.00 / $439.00 night

Are you looking for the ultimate romantic escape? Is your plan to pop the question or pop open a bottle of champagne? It's obvious to you and overwhelming - Love is demanding to be celebrated.

Imagine a rustic garret room as your hideaway, complete with dormer windows dressed with imported silk London shades and window seats with brocade pillows and cushions. Your elaborately carved king size bed majestically enshrines the center of your elegantly furnished suite. And, of course, only the softest and most luxurious European linens of damask or brocade dress your bed. In a corner below two cherubs, a cozy, antique settee for two sits romantically nestled behind an exquisite hand carved table near the light of a dormer window. Intimacy draws you there. You celebrate the joy of being together and alone. Nothing else matters.

Winter's cold weaves its own magic. Can you resist the crackling, hypnotic spell cast by the fire in your wood burning attic fireplace? Even the oversized armchairs in front of the fire know that you cannot; in fact, they too become part of the luring spell that welcomes, caresses, soothes and transforms you. You can resist anything but temptation; you succumb and feel so much the better for it.

Pamper yourself in your claw foot whirlpool tub for two, enjoying the soothing, bubbling water scented with bath oils or salts. Your head is leaning back against a comfortable terry neck roll; you're too relaxed to move. You enjoy the decadence of operating the tub with a remote control; you notice your bath never chills, your tranquility remaining undisturbed. Light streams in your bath from the romantic stained glass window that complements the colors of the honed, tumbled and polished Italian marble of the room. A heated marble floor and towel warmer sustain your seamless comfort as you step out of your bath. A shower stall surrounded by exquisitely designed etched glass doors, a bidet and an oversized antique style sink also complement your bath.

In pleasant weather, your own private sundeck offers you the opportunity to take your breakfast privately, to enjoy the view of the garden and Koi pond, to lounge in the sun all afternoon or to enjoy the stars and moonlight at night. Imagine hardly having to leave your third floor suite for your entire stay! Imagine how special a moment you can create! Imagine, and then indulge.

The Iglehart Suite

$259.00 / $319.00 night

You finally kept your promise to yourself and took the time to get away. Your need for a quiet retreat remains simple - a peaceful setting, tasteful touches of luxury and comfort, undisturbed privacy and serenity, a room that can shut out the world. The Iglehard Suite awaits you with a quiet garden view.

You enter your room through an elegant archway, crowned with the egg and dart design of the Georgian period, and you begin to be transported back into time. A refined and elegant room, your spirits are immediately lightened by the romantic English tapestry above your king size bed that flirts with you and toys with your interest. In the corner, nestled between two windows, is your cozy sitting area with upholstered, needlepoint antique chairs, marble reading table and lamp.

You're delighted that you brought all the reading you've been meaning to catch up with. The soft shades of blues and creams used throughout your room make you feel comfortable and serene. A peek out of the windows reveals the garden and Koi pond below you. The sound of water bubbling in the pond is relaxing. You realize how comfortable you feel, and the restfulness you hoped to find is suddenly upon you. You can't believe you that you give yourself permission to take a nap! You tell yourself that you must be dreaming. In five minutes you are.

Beside your bed stands a magnificent antique secretaire. Its inlaid wood, intricate design and exquisite detailing entice you to catch up on your personal journal or pen the letters you've been meaning to write for the longest time. How good you feel about yourself. How balanced your life starts to feel. Everything seems so right.

Through another archway you find your separate vanity area - a spacious alcove with a customized distressed wood vanity below an oversized marble countertop that provides ample space for all your amenities. Behind you, an oversized closet makes you wish you were staying indefinitely. Opposite your vanity area, your shower stall of tumbled marble is enclosed with a door etched with exquisite intricate designs reflective of the Georgian period. You step out of your shower and reach toward the towel warmer to grab an oversized bath sheet meant to soothe away the water from your skin. You feel refreshed, physically and mentally. Your search for peacefulness and serenity is over. The world cannot touch you - it is now two centuries away.

You're feeling formal, significant or simply elegant. Perhaps you want to set the right mood or create the right impression for someone important to you; the need for an elegant sitting room in which to relax privately or entertain guests seems indispensable. Or, perhaps enjoying the authentic historic bedchambers of eighteenth century Annapolis aristocracy intrigues you. If so, The Annapolis Inn is proud to provide you with accommodations to satisfy your taste for sophistication, elegance, space and privacy in the Dr. James Murray Suite.

As you enter your suite, you are impressed by the breathtaking level of spaciousness and luxury rarely available in historic accommodations. Your suite is furnished to please royalty. Your bedroom is grand and oversized. Your king size bed is dressed in stunning brocades and the finest European linens and sits upon a magnificent rug brought from The Orient. Stately silk draperies, swagged and pooled in front of large Greek Revival windows with historic rolled glass, adorn your garden view. Silk upholstered armchairs poised in front of your bedroom's wood burning marble fireplace invite you to enjoy a relaxing moment.

You enter your sitting room through exquisitely designed doors of etched glass. Your eyes immediately fall upon the extraordinary antique masterpieces. You notice the "victory" motif of the sitting room, the second wood burning marble fireplace with torch sconces and the 'victory at sea' painting between them. From the ornately gilded French secretaire, antique settee, tables and accent pieces to the elaborate Oriental rug, your sitting room has been appointed to provide every detail of elegance, luxury, comfort and spaciousness, creating the perfect ambiance in which to relax or entertain the most discerning and discriminating guests.

Your bath is of imported Italian tumbled and polished marble. The heated marble floor is designed with a rug pattern outlined with a cut polished marble boarder and lies in front of your shower with its impressive etched glass doors, matching the same Georgian pattern of those in your suite. Your bidet and commode sit on the opposite side. An oversized double vanity counter of Botticino polished marble and painted oriental porcelain sinks sits below European sconces and imported gilded mirrors. A thermostatically controlled, heated, air jet whirlpool tub is available to soothe and relax you. An electric towel warmer assures you of continuing comfort, pampering you as you step out of your shower or bath. An antique makeup table placed between two gilded sconces affords you the space and luxury of completing your finishing touches in comfort and grace.
