The Candleshop Inn B&B and Holistic Retreat Center, overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, is just a short walk to Short Sands Beach in York Beach, Maine. Pictured in the background of our pages is Short Sand Beach, the beach you can walk to from the Inn. Each of our 10 guest rooms is unique and comfortably decorated, accommodating two to five people in twin, double and/or king beds (please see Room Descriptions for details). Five rooms offer stunning ocean views.

Each morning you'll be treated to a sumptuous homemade buffet style vegetarian breakfast prepared by Innkeeper Barbara Sheff and her staff. We will tailor breakfast to meet special dietary needs (including gluten-free and vegan diets). [At right, some recent guests, Phyllis Hibbard and Pat Bacon, enjoy their B&B breakfast al fresco, on our front porch.] We even have our own seasonal garden (read more).

We welcome families, children of all ages, solo travelers, and couples looking for a beach-side adventure or a quiet escape. For information about our Anniversary or Babymoon Celebrations, click here. While you are here consider having a body treatment (massage, aromatherapy, or Reiki) with a local practitioner. What better way to nourish your soul than to relieve the body of stress. Please discuss your preferences with Barbara in advance of your arrival so she can recommend someone to you.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise at York Beach. If you like to practice Yoga, you may do so on our large outdoor deck or at the beach. If you like to meditate, center yourself in the Japanese Meditation Garden or ask Barbara for directions to the "secret beach". After breakfast, relax on the front porch or take the short walk to York Beach's downtown Main Street with its many shops and restaurants. Or spend the day at Short Sands Beach with its adjacent playground and Bandstand. Nearby are a number of other beaches.
