Children are welcome at the Candleshop Inn - children under 5 stay free. Your children will enjoy our Kid's Corner with books, games and videos.

Short Sands Beach (float rentals), Funorama Arcade and Bowling and a wonderful playground are only two blocks away. We are a short 5 minute walk from York's Wild Kingdom (zoo and amusement park) and Main Street shops.

With its serene atmosphere and beautiful ocean views, our ten-bedroom home is the perfect setting for replenishing the body, mind and spirit. Our unique B&B (bed and breakfast) offers a year-round escape for the traveler in search of inner tranquility. We offer rooms with your choice of private ensuite bathrooms to shared baths. We take pride in creating an environment that is both unpretentious and nourishing. Most of our bedrooms have spectacular ocean views, bringing in the healing sounds of the ocean and the clean, fresh smell of the sea. Nurture yourself with the sounds of nature and the aromas of home cooking.

Enjoy sunsets on our deck, stroll along the beach, or relax in a rocking chair on our spacious front porch. We strive to provide a carefree and serene atmostphere at the Inn. The summer temperatures in New England are unpredictable; and older homes, such as ours, do not have central air conditioning. However, we have provided ceiling fans (in select rooms, please inquire), window fans, and box fans to help move the air within the Inn. In cooler weather, curl up in front of the wood stove with a book and hot tea. There are many places in which to refresh your soul. We offer an outdoor Japanese Meditation Garden and sunny large outdoor deck. You may do yoga in any of these spaces ... we have mats here you may use. Nearby are spa facilities offering massage, Reiki and other body treatments. Barbara will help you make an appointment for any of these services, so discuss your preferences with her when making your reservation.

Policies
Rates apply for Single or Double Occupancy. Rates are subject to 7% Maine Lodging tax. Weekly rates are available upon request. Errors can occur: rates and dates are subject to correction.

During July, August, and Fall Foliage, we require a two-night minimum on weekends at the above rates. If you choose to stay one night only, a $20 surcharge will be added. (based on availability).
CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT: Check-in time is 3 p.m. or later. Check-out time is 11 a.m. Please let us know if you will be arriving after 9 p.m.
DEPOSITS: Rooms cannot be held without a reservation and deposit. Full payment is required for a deposit on a one-night stay. 50% deposit is required for two (2) or more nights. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, cash, and personal checks.
CANCELLATION: A cancellation notice must be given two (2) weeks in advance for a full refund. If cancellation is given less than 2 weeks in advance AND the room can be rented, your deposit will be refunded less a $20 processing fee. If the room cannot be re-rented, the deposit will be forfeited. There will be an additional charge of $25 for all returned checks.
