Hospitality for Habitat 17 Apr 2013, 1:34 pmSpring has definitely arrived here at Newcastle Inn and that means that the start of Hospitality for Habitat is just around the corner. This year the event begins on Monday, April 22 and runs through Thursday, May 23. This is the 10th year that the Maine Innkeepers Association has organized this fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.
This is the fifth year that Newcastle Inn has participated. Over the previous four years the guests of Newcastle Inn have donated almost $9,000.00 to Habitat for Humanity.
The rules are pretty simple, stay two nights in any room that is priced at $200.00 or higher and you receive a 50% discount. In return you make a minimum donation of $35.00 to Habitat for Humanity. Many guests have donated $35.00 each night, or more! This offer is available seven days a week.
So, visit Newcastle Inn during a beautiful time of year, stay in a room for 50% off AND help out a worthy cause. See you soon!
Christmas Market at the Coastal Maine Gardens 15 Nov 2012, 10:02 amThe Christmas Market returns to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Saturday, December 8, 2012. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind, hand crafted items from Maine artisans and craftsmen. If you are looking for a unique gift that can't be found in the local shopping mall, then this is the place to shop. One of my favorites is Black Dinah Chocolatiers. Somehow those gifts never make it to the intended recipient....
The inn is decorated for the holiday season and I have lots of wrapping paper, bows and ribbons for you to wrap your gifts. So, consider a trip to our Newcastle, Maine B&B for a little getaway before the busy holiday season kicks into gear.
Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta 24 Sep 2012, 3:27 pmDamariscotta Pumpkinfest and Regatta. I say it every year, but this is truly something that everyone should see, particularly the regatta on Sunday, October 7 when these enormous pumpkins are turned into BOATS! Yes, that is right, boats with outboard motors attached and then they have races.
Newcastle Inn is an ideal home base to attend all of the wonderful activities planned for that weekend in the area. There are just a few rooms left, so call our Newcastle Maine Bed and Breakfast today to make your reservation!

One of the places that they visited was the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. That day was made complete with a stop at Reny's in Damariscotta.
On Monday, The Red Chair made a visit to a very special place, a Pumpkin Patch, where the pumpkins are growing and gaining every day in preparation for Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta.
At the end of the the day Dolce took The Red Chair to one of her favorite places of all, Dodge Point, for an afternoon walk.
The Red Chair Travels to Newcastle Inn 19 Aug 2012, 2:56 pmEver since we learned that we would be hosting The Red Chair, we have been anxiously waiting for this special visitor. Yesterday afternoon, after spending several days in the Rockland, Maine area, the Red Chair finally arrived.
The Red Chair wasted no time in getting out to the backyard where it enjoyed visiting the inn's gardens and was very happy to see some long lost cousins, The Adirondacks. They had a great visit, while taking in the wonderful view of the Damariscotta River.
Tomorrow, The Red Chair will be taking in the local sights and visiting a very special place. Here's a little hint - think big, round and orange!
