Alewives Fish Ladder Restoration Festival 19 May 2013, 10:03 am
The Alewives started their annual run a little over a week ago leaving the Great Salt Bay and climbing the fish ladder which takes them to Damariscotta Lake, their final destination.
Next weekend, over Memorial Day Weekend, the annual Fish Ladder Restoration Festival takes place in Damariscotta Mills. It is a fun weekend, and an impressive thing to see birds of prey scoping things out looking for their fish dinner. Photographers come from all over the world hoping to get that perfect shot.

Christmas Market at the Coastal Maine Gardens 15 Nov 2012, 10:02 am
The Christmas Market returns to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Saturday, December 8, 2012. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind, hand crafted items from Maine artisans and craftsmen. If you are looking for a unique gift that can't be found in the local shopping mall, then this is the place to shop. One of my favorites is Black Dinah Chocolatiers. Somehow those gifts never make it to the intended recipient....The inn is decorated for the holiday season and I have lots of wrapping paper, bows and ribbons for you to wrap your gifts. So, consider a trip to our Newcastle, Maine B&B for a little getaway before the busy holiday season kicks into gear.

Yes, that is right, boats with outboard motors attached and then they have races.Newcastle Inn is an ideal home base to attend all of the wonderful activities planned for that weekend in the area. There are just a few rooms left, so call our Newcastle Maine Bed and Breakfast today to make your reservation!
