90 Years in the Hospitality Industry

Walk into the Welch House and you are met with our common areas; overstuffed leather couches in front of the fireplace that offer you room to relax while you admire the Harbor views from the bay window, said to have been designed to resemble ship's wheel house). The original artwork on the walls represents the best of the Boothbay Region's local artists.

Whether you choose to enjoy breakfast outside on the deck or in the window-filled dining room, it will be one you'll want to remember.

The deck and living room, both overlooking the harbor, are the perfect gathering places for warm conversation. Sink comfortably into a leather love seat in front of the stone fireplace, or stretch out on the deck and bask in the sun and fresh salt air. Grab a good book from our diverse library, or select a game to play with friends, but be sure to glance up at the view every now and then. Make a selection from our diverse wine list, or settle back with coffee, tea, or cocoa; available 24/7.

A Bed Should Only Be Half Of Your Experience

We love good food, and part of the joy of running a Bed & Breakfast is sharing that good food with you.

Naturally, the lobster and crab that we serve is fresh and local; in fact, Tammy (our Head Housekeeper) brings us freshly picked crab meat every week in season, caught by her husband, a lobster boat Sternman. Our eggs come from Bowden's Egg Farm in Waldoboro and are delivered weekly, and our coffee is custom roasted and ground for us by Wicked Joe's in Brunswick. Our Maple Syrup is 100% pure, Dark Amber from Springbreak Farms. Blueberries and Strawberries are bought from the folks that picked them. Tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, peppers, zucchini, dozens of fresh herbs and more come from our own garden.

So it should be no surprise that when you come and visit the Welch House, you can expect outstanding breakfasts like Crustless Crabmeat Quiche, Gypsy Eggs Benedict, Pumpkin Pancakes, Poached Egg with Lobster Sauce, Fresh Blueberry-Stuffed French Toast, Lemon/Ricotta Pancakes. We make and sell our own Granola using fresh ingredients and no preservatives and that's in addition to the Freshly-Baked Goods, mountains of Fresh Fruit, Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt and OJ.
