Howard House Lodge Bed & Breakfast

In 1978 we opened our 7 bedroom home as one of the first B&B's in the Boothbay Harbor region. After several years and children taking over the space, we finally grew out of the house and built a second building. All of our 14 homey guest rooms are located in the annex now, but guests still enjoy our homemade breakfast in our home. Each of our 14 guest rooms has a private bath, ceiling fan, Cable TV, Wifi, and patio door leading to your own individual deck. Rooms and decks are completely non-smoking to ensure the comfort of our guests. Grounds are beautifully landscaped, and surrounded by 20 wooded and manicured acres. Start the day off right with a wholesome and delicious homemade breakfast freshly prepared for you each morning, including juices and hot beverages, selection of cereals, fresh fruit salad {local produce when possible} and yogurt. Homemade bread and blueberry muffins or blueberry cake are an every day staple, while scones and/or special coffeecakes make daily appearances as well. All of our baked goods are homemade with unbleached flours. Our hot egg dish varies every day, but always made with local fresh farm eggs. If you have special dietary needs, please inform us when you make your reservations.

 Howard House is centrally located in mid-coast Maine. It's your perfect home base while enjoying the secluded rocky coves and quaint coastal villages. Spend time exploring our unique corner of the world. Take an easy day trip to nearby Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Beach, Mt. Battie, or for a rainy day activity, visit the Freeport outlets and LL Bean. Swim in the ocean, enjoy a boat ride to unspoiled islands, rent a kayak or bring your own, hike the numerous Land Trust nature trails, play a round of golf or two at the Boothbay Country Club, tour the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and enjoy our local art galleries and museums.

If you are planning an overnight trip to Monhegan Island, we offer free transportation to and from the local Pier 8 Ferry, and free parking during your stay on the island. Enjoy the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Cap'n Fish's Whale Watch, and the Boothbay Whale Watch with our special discounted tickets.
