    Ullikana
The Ullikana is a secluded, romantic haven by the sea in the heart of Bar Harbor, Maine. Old-fashioned gardens surround this historic English Tudor style house built in 1885. All of our rooms have private baths, many have fireplaces or private terraces with beautiful water views.

Alpheus Hardy, Bar Harbor's first summer cottager, built and named the Ullikana in 1885. This historic building is one of the few early cottages still remaining. While no one knows the story behind the name Ullikana, this elegant bed and breakfast maintains a long tradition of hospitality and welcomes guests and travellers from the world over. Although only a minute from the center of Bar Harbor, our quiet location offers a haven of hospitality.

    A Yellow House

A Yellow House is the sister Inn of the Ullikana Bed and Breakfast. A Yellow House and The Ullikana are two of the original Bar Harbor seaside summer cottages and offer the charm of the past with the comfort of the present.

A Yellow House features spacious bedrooms, modern bathrooms and large sitting rooms with fireplaces — all you need to relax. It is a step away from the renowned shore path and downtown Bar Harbor.

    Living Room Front Parlor

    A Warm Welcome Awaits You

Both Ullikana and A Yellow House retain the intimate scale of the gracious Bar Harbor summer estates they once were. Public rooms are inviting, filled with comfortable corners for relaxing and a variety of art and antiques. We strive to meet your needs, from hair dryers, corkscrews and personal toiletries, to arranging for taxis or extra towels. If it isn't already right there when you need it, simply ask.
