Hawk Wood Hall - Foster, Kentucky

I am Hawk Wood Hall Perched on a hilltop in the Kentucky Blue Grass Region with spectacular views of the Ohio River. I am a wildlife habitat surrounded by thousands of acres of timberland & farms. As a Bed & Breakfast, I offer my guests a grand Tudor style home built of local stone, timber, aged beams from a nearby barn, as well as six fireplaces, balconies and wrap around porches with rocking chairs, all the comforts of a country estate.

I am located a few miles west of historic Augusta, home to charming shops, restaurants, vineyards, and the oldest estate winery in America. I am a short distance to many museums and only a ferry ride across the Ohio River to Ripley and a variety of Underground Rail Road sites. Come dance over the stream to the hilltop of rocky ridges and see the magnificent views of the Ohio River.

Rendezvous with your friends in the inviting living room, light-filled solarium and entertaining Pub. Or find a quiet corner for a comfortable hour with a book. The living room is dominated by two-story windows that capture the River's splendid view. While relaxing by a crackling fire, reading a good book in the big window seat, or chatting with friends, you will find that the living room is an inviting area.

The early morning and late afternoon sunshine light up the solarium and make it a wonderful place to relax while playing board games, cards or watching TV. A large stained glass window adds color to the room. Choose this room for your cozy breakfast. The Solarium is everyone's favorite room!

A comfortable sofa and wingback chair in the booklined library welcome you to savor the evening sun while perusing books on art, local history, flowers, birds, short stories, classics, biographies, military history and a variety of other topics. A writing desk and complimentary postcards are a perfect place to dash off a note. You will also enjoy the incredible views of the River and forest from this second story perch.

Whether you are dining al Fresco on the spectacular two story balcony, eating in the sunny Solarium, or enjoying your meal in the lovely formal dining room, you will delight in the delicious dishes our Gracious Gourmand Jane has prepared for you! Jane uses local farm eggs, game dishes and fresh-baked breads and muffins to serve you a sumptuous breakfast. Let us know your preferences so we can accommodate your personal dietary needs.
