James Marshall Browne built Rosemark Haven in the 1830's. This gracious old Southern home is skillfully restored with its breathtaking three-story oval spiral staircase, twelve and thirteen foot ceilings, wide plank yellow poplar and ash floors throughout, antique furnishings, and a fireplace in every room. This is the type of setting that inspired Stephen Foster to sing about his "Old Kentucky Home." We now herald Rosemark Haven as "Your Old Kentucky Home."

During your stay you can visit many nearby scenic and historic attractions. Take a charming tour of Bardstown via a horse-drawn carriage that can be arranged to pick you up at your front door. You may also want to check out our cafe that is open for lunch in what was once the slave kitchen, but is now a comfortable, bright cafe seating area. The cafe also has an outdoor patio. Or, consider reserving a table for dinner, which is served in the dining room most evenings (but by reservation only).

Rosemark Haven offers six guest rooms in the mansion. Plush king size beds, large windows, and comfort with a retrospective decor invite you to a peace and quiet tucked away from city sounds.

Our Federal House, circa 1810, is a perfect example of the early architecture found in Kentucky. The completely remodeled original plantation home is a three-room suite at Rosemark Haven. There is a private entrance, but you are only steps from the main mansion. It's perfect for a romantic weekend!

For 225 years our Southern hospitality, fine restaurants in historic surroundings, and accommodations have made you feel right at home. There are many ways to experience the beauty of Bardstown. Combine fine dining with a view of the countryside on the Dinner Train, enjoy an intimate carriage ride through the Historic Downtown, or get a more in-depth tour on the trolley.
