Policies
We want to make your stay at the Morning Star as comfortable and convenient as possible. Please read through our House Policies for how we ensure this and how we ask our guests to help.
House Policies
Because many of the guests who stay at The Morning Star are business travelers, university guests and people who need to work or relax while in the house, we try to maintain a quiet household.
Check-In/Check-Out:
Check-in is between 4 - 8 p.m. and check-out is 11 a.m.
Smoking Policy
The Morning Star is a non-smoking bed and breakfast. Smoking is not allowed in the house or on the porch.
Candle and Incense Policy:
Candles and incense are not permitted; only flameless candles are allowed. For ambience, there are flameless candles in the rooms. Flameless candles for you to enjoy at home or to give as gifts are also available in our online gift shop.
Children & Pets
No children or pets allowed. (The three Boston Terriers in residence will happily share their affection with lonely visitors.) Young adults age 12 or older are welcome.
Minimum Stay:
During some holidays and special event weekends and for some of our special packages, a two-day minimum stay is required.
Payment:
We accept the following forms of payment: cash, checks, VISA, Mastercard and Discover.
Cancellation Policy:
To give us time to re-book our rooms, seven days notice is required for most dates. For holidays and special events, a fourteen or thirty day cancellation might be required. You will be notified of the last date for cancellation when you make your reservation. You will be responsible for reservations cancelled after the last day and for “no-show” reservations.
