Schenck Mansion Bed & Breakfast - Vevay, IndianaThis 35 room mansion was built in 1874, by Benjamin Franklin Schenck, son of a wealthy "hay king" of the steamboat era. It was the marvel of its time with a four storied tower and five bathrooms. Each bathroom contains a walnut-cased copper lined tub. Architecturally the house is of the "second empire" style. It has four porches, seven balconies, eight chimneys, 86 windows and seven staircases. The original slate roof is still intact. The original exterior trim was made by a master tin smith.

In 1945 the home was acquired by Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Wiseman who lived here and also used it as the clubhouse for the Switzerland County Saddle Club. The property now belongs to Jerry and Lisa Fisher, who have restored the mansion to its original grandeur.

There are several beautiful locations on the grounds to hold your dream wedding. Small weddings can be held in the double parlors also.  Luncheons and tours by appointment.  Bridal, Baby, or Graduation parties can also be held on the patio or parlors.

"My spouse and I are veterans of over 100 bed-and-breakfast visits, and we've never found one as elegant, comfortable, and splendid as in our recent visit to the Schenck Mansion in Vevay, Indiana. The attention to detail in every aspect was a true delight. The hostess is amazingly gifted in renovation, hospitality, and the culinary arts--I'm completely in awe of her skills, and equally grateful she chose to share them with fortunate travelers in this setting."
