  • Meet Vesta Seville

Innkeeper and Indiana artist and instructor, Vesta Seville, is internationally known for her unique style of impressionistic plein air  paintings.  A variety of art workshops are conducted on a regularly scheduled basis and includes such topics as basic figure drawing, introduction to art, drawing, shading and perspective, painting in watercolor or oils.

Following a successful career in commercial real estate, Ms Seville returned to her home state of Indiana, at which time she decided to focus exclusively on her art. Born and raised in Jackson County, Indiana, just south of Brown County, home to the artist colony of Nashville, Indiana, she developed an interest in art at an early age.

Combining her love of nature with her love of art, she especially enjoys painting on location. She finds plein air extremely freeing. In addition to plein air, Ms Seville paints still life and does figure drawing. Although she considers oil painting her strong suit, she also works in watercolor.

Ms. Seville has served on the board of directors for the South Sid Art League and the Indiana Heritage Arts. She teaches art for various universities and conducts workshops nationwide.
