    Sitting on 4 acres just 5 miles west of Rockford and 2 miles east of Winnebago where Bypass 20 and Business 20 merge going west towards Freeport. The Victorian Veranda Bed & Breakfast - Winnebago, Illinois Between Chicago's O'Hare (90 minutes east) and Galena (90 minutes west) on the frontage road on the south side of Route 20.

    Y    		 The home was built in 1863 by Peter McGeachie and in the McGeachie family until the late 1940s. In 1986 the McCoys bought the home and seven years later, on August 15, 1993, Ret's dream became a reality and the doors officially opened to The Victorian Veranda B&B. Now, 18 years later, I'm still welcoming guests from all over the world. Some of the guest rooms have been remodeled and have new beds. The gracious hospitality and bountiful breakfasts have not changed (except for some new recipes!)

    Use the 180 foot wrap around veranda to while away an afternoon on a porch swing or a rocker. The Veranda has been the setting for many showers, graduation and anniversary open houses as well as receptions.  Breakfast is also served on the veranda, weather permitting.     A full country breakfast is served in the dining room.

    More than 98 weddings have been performed at the Veranda. The pictured alcove is a beautiful setting for the bride and groom to say, "I do". Seating for 10 to 50 guests inside for the ceremony and up to 100 informal seating on the Veranda for the reception. I will be happy to specifically quote for a larger function.

    Basic rates:

    • $75 per hour Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
    • $40 per hour Monday through Thursday.
