Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Ken and Chris Williams for sharing their own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn?
The Inn is very romantic so most stay for a romantic getaway or to make their stay special if they are visiting the area.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?
We are best known for our quiet elegance. As inn owners, we never get tired of the reaction guests have when they walk through the door and see the stunning décor.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?
It is not only a quiet getaway, it also offers the visitor a variety of things to do from kayaking on the river and hiking the limestone bluff of the nearby four state parks to visiting the many antique shops in the area.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?
That even first time B&B folks feel right at home and their visit was a special experience for them.
What’s the best kept secret about the area?
Unlike most of Illinois, we have rolling hills and limestone bluffs combined with a quaint and historic downtown. It is a unique and special place.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area?
We are the epicenter of many unique attractions for day trippers. At least one of those days should be spent just relaxing on the verandah.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn?
We are 5 blocks from the center of town so a number of restaurants and pubs are within walking distance.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?
While there are a number of good restaurants in the area, our guests have three favorites: The 1930s log cabin restaurant at White Pines, the Blackhawk Steak pit where the steaks are cooked in the middle of the restaurant and La Vigna, a Northern Italian restaurant known for their pasta.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference?
Yes, our area convention and visitors bureau: www.bwcvb.com
How many rooms does your inn have?
We have 6 rooms.
Do you accept pets?
We are pet-free.
