Harpole's Heartland Lodge

The only Orvis endorsed lodge in the state, our "six star" facility is located in the rolling hills of this remote county. Our family farm for over 100 years adjoins Heartland Lodge.

Harpole's Heartland Lodge was specifically built to emulate the serenity and tranquility found only in the country. The meals alone are enough to make you want to stay... but don't forget the fresh country beds with feather pillows, recreational activities, and the sheer exhilaration of being in the great outdoors!

 

Harpole's Heartland Lodge is unequaled as a perfect "getaway" for weekends, overnighters, retreats, corporate meetings and conferences. The lodges contain over 7500 and 9300 square feet of air conditioned comfort, with 11 regular rooms, a family room, a suite and seven luxury suites. These rooms have King size, triple sheeted canopy beds, private Jaccuzzi, walkout porch, fireplace, and is decorated according to its theme.

 

 

We have a 1500sq ft conference/banquet area and a separate board room. The board room seats sixteen people. Wireless access and telephone lines are available for connecting to outside sources.

With over 1,500 acres of woodland, trails, bird watching, horseback riding (There are stalls available to board your horse while staying at the lodge.), sporting clays, ATV riding, hay rides and much more, Heartland Lodge is a perfect way to enjoy the Heartland of America.
 

 

A unique ambiance will permeate your senses when you step through the door of this Illinois Bed & Breakfast. As soon as you slip off your shoes to glide over the gleaming solid oak floors of the dining room toward the Great Room, you'll notice the delicious aroma of "Grandma's" cooking wafting through the air. As you marvel at the two-story stone fireplace, the Remington statues, the inviting sofas and chairs, and gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows, you will catch a glimpse of the hundreds of Yellow Finches nesting in the trees around the lodge.

The temptation to step out onto the large back deck is irresistible. Fresh air washes over you as you sink into one of the Amish-crafted rocking chairs. Only the occasional bird song breaks the blessed sound of silence that envelops the countryside.

You will not find a more beautiful and unique setting to host your special day. Whether it is a small intimate indoor wedding or an extravagant large outdoor wedding, we offer packages to suit a variety of options. The bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, wedding, accommodations for your party and reception can all be hosted here!

For the honeymoon, enjoy one of our romantic luxury suites! These suites have King size, triple sheeted canopy beds, private Jacuzzi, fireplace, day bed, comfy chairs, walkout porch, and is decorated according to its own theme. The ultra comfy beds have become an attraction themselves!

Our on-site wedding coordinator will be happy to assist you with the planning and execution of your wedding as well as furnish you with a complete list of recommended wedding services.

Intimate Wedding Package
This wedding package is for couples only and includes a 2 night stay in our luxurious honeymoon suite: complete with a triple sheeted canopy bed, a private jacuzzi and your own walkout porch. Brunch and dinner are also included with your stay. A romantic horse ride (details below) can also be scheduled. This package includes your choice of a wedding location anywhere on our lodge property.

Romantic Horse Ride for two
This is a 2 Hour ride that must be reserved in advance. You and that special someone head out on a picturesque ride through some of our most breathtaking scenery. You will then break out into a quaint meadow with a surprise waiting just for you. A linen covered tablecloth with flowers and a honeymoon basket of fruit, sandwiches and sparkling grape juice with keepsake wine glasses.

Intimate Reception Package
This wedding reception package is for up to 20 guests. Our new lodge is reserved exclusively for your wedding party and guests. Brunch is included for all guests staying in the reserved lodge. Receptions are held in our indoor/outdoor reception hall. This reception package includes a complete catered meal for 20 guests*.

Private Fantasy Package
This wedding package is for up to 40-50 guests. Both of our lodges are reserved exclusively for your guests and wedding party. Includes a complete catered meal* and unrestricted access to our reception hall. Brunch will also be served for all guests.

Outdoor Recreation ... Where do we start? How about our famous evening hay ride! Take a trip along the Mississippi River bluffs and see an elk farm, Texas longhorns, deer, turkey, and the most scenic river valley view in the Midwest! Enjoy the breathtaking sunset across the river in the Missouri hills (weather permitting). We offer horseback riding, sporting clays, fishing, hunting, ATV's, bike riding, golf, volleyball, croquet, bonfires, Old West cookouts, cross country skiing, sled riding, mountain biking, and over 1,200 acres of trails, ponds and unmatched scenic beauty. As if all that wasn't enough, trips can be arranged to visit historic Hannibal, MO (Mark Twain and Molly Brown's birth homes, museums, and more) or Springfield, IL (home of Abraham Lincoln).
