The Summers Riverview Mansion is a great place to stay and it's only one block from Harrah's Casino. We encourage all of our fans to visit and spend a night or two at this victorian bed and breakfast. Each room comes complete with hot tub jacuzzi and you get a gourmet breakfast in the morning. The rates are very reasonable.

    “Great Stay”

I was in town for one night without the family. The next time I'm in town I'll be sure we all stay there. What a place. Beautiful from the outside in. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and made a tired traveller feel right at home. For an alternative to the Casino, consider this place. I loved it.

I had never done the "B&B" thing before, but booked Summer's Riverview Mansion due to its proximity to the major events for the annual Superman celebration in Metropolis. While the accommodations were much more than I needed, they are absolutely beautiful. The five bedroom home has a very cozy feel that still complements the luxurious antiques surrounding you at every turn. Every room has a jacuzzi, a claw-foot tub in the bathroom, and a luxurious bed. Henk and Colleen, the hosts at Summer's Riverview, are extremely gracious in every possible way and even offered to drive me around to see surrounding countryside and sites-- something I regrettably did not have time to do. Breakfasts were extremely tasty and filling;water, juice, and assorted snacks available any time of day or night. If you are going to Metropolis and want to stay in style, then the Summer's Riverview Mansion is the place to be for a super stay!

When we first arrived we were greeted by wonderful inn keepers Colleen and Henk and given a tour of the mansion...the pictures truly don't do this place justice... it was gorgeous. We spent one night in the sweet dreams suite, the room was very clean and the beds were very cozy and intimate. Breakfast the next morning was so much more than we had ever expected, it was delicious. We will be back!

We come to Metropolis every year for the Superman Celebration. We decided to stay at the Summers Riverview Mansion Bed and Breakfast. What an excellent choice!!! Henk and Colleen are the nicest people we have ever met. Hot breakfast, snacks and surprises in your room. I felt like I was at home. Henk gave us a tour of the grounds and a ittle history of the place. I really enjoyed talking to them, it was like family.  have suggested to everyone I know about this secret little place in Metropolis, Illinois..A place like home! Can't wait to see you this summer.

Thanks to Summers Riverview Mansion Bed & Breakfast, our stay in Metropolis, Illinois was memorable and so much more than expected. Hospitality uncommonly found in other establishments was routine. What other Bed & Breakfast starts your morning out with great conversation along with biscuits & gravy along with sending us on our way home with the Southern Hospitality of a Hug and a wish for a safe trip.....We will be back...Thanks again!

This was our first time at a Bed & Breakfast. All I can say is WOW. We will never stay at a hotel again. We felt as if we were at our  own house and Hank & Colleen were staying with us. They took care of all of our needs, anything we needed was provided for at anytime, day or night. They go well above what would be expected to create an atmosphere of comfort, joy and luxury. When we first arrived we were greeted by Hank and asked if we would like to just go to our room or learn a little bit about the house and it's history. We decided to take the tour. It was well worth the time spent to know about the place we were staying. Hank is a wonderful man with great presentational skills. After that we relaxed in our room for several hours (in the tub and Jacuzzi). Then we took a walk around town. We had dinner and walked around some more. There is not much around within walking distance as far as entertainment besides the Hotel and Superman locations so we went back to the Jacuzzi. ;) The next morning we were expecting some coffee and doughnuts of some sort. The breakfast that Hank prepared was out of this world! Sausages, Eggs, Bacon and fresh veggies in a breakfast bowl with muffins, and fresh fruit, and on and on and on! All of this on fine china with a nice selection of tableware. No plastic only luxury. The next full day we spent looking around town. Colleen suggested we go and see the wall in Paducah. It was cool to see it and the boats very short driving distance. We also saw several Superman locations and then went back to the house and fell asleep. We awoke wondering if the next breakfast was going to be a let down, it wasn't. It surpassed the first. I am going back soon as this has become a  very special place for us. A place to recapture a place in time to relax, unwind, and remember.
