"We booked at 11:30 p.m. The night before arrival as a last minute get away. We were greeted upon arrival by the sweetest lady. The cabin was small but perfect for the two of us. The breakfast tray was awesome. We will be going back for sure!!"

"This is the B&B that we compare all others against. If it doesn't meet these standards, we don't ever go back or recommend to anyone. Haven't visited lately, but we've been for years & years with friends & by ourselves, and have never been disappointed. We're stayed in all rooms & each is special. Nothing to do except drink GREAT wine, visit friends (or just ourselves) and commune with nature. Beautiful life. The owners are absolutely the most gracious hosts, have some of the best breakfasts and are so interesting to talk with. Walk to the cave by all means. Those claw-foot tubs (& hot tub) have every amenity one could need. Each room has everything from fresh fruit, to chocolates, to magazines to movies (as if one would actually want such a thing). Beautiful table settings -different each morning you eat breakfast--so you don't get bored!!! If you go back, the owner knows what she fed you before, asks if you want different foods or some of the same. We ALWAYS take her bacon casserole. Wonderful wineries nearby, great antique shops, GREAT food at the Giant State Park lodge. Relax & enjoy life here."

"We've come to love Shawnee Hill B&B over the years. My husband and I have brought friends and family with us to enjoy this restful, charming B&B set in the Shawnee Hills of Illinois! It's a nice, quiet get-away that isn't far from our home near St Louis. The rooms are lovely, the grounds hikable, and the breakfast is always fantastic!"

"We spent 1 night in the Victorian Room. The other is the Country Cottage. Both are lovely, decorated with antiques. Of the 2 rooms, I prefer the Victorian because it has the temperature control for both rooms. The queen bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is large & has both a shower & tub. Each room has a private deck. No cable, so the TV only receives ABC & CBS. However, there are both DVD & VCR with a large assortment of movies available. The property itself it gorgeous. It is very private and surrounded by Shawnee Hill National Forest. Very convenient to the Wine Trail and hiking. We opted for the full breakfast, which was well worth it. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. We're looking forward to returning. This is definitely worth it."
