Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Ray Reiss for sharing his own secrets with BBOnline.com! Why do most travelers stay at your inn? Our location, service, and cooked-to-order breakfasts are often what draw new guests in, and we strive to make them feel at home, which keeps them coming back.
What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn? Although our location, service, and breakfasts bring them in, what I love most is the wonderful down-to-earth amazing guests we have come stay with us over and over again.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Chicago has world-class, year round museums, city festivals, and restaurants ranging from Michelin Star to hole-in-the-wall ethnic spots.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? The best compliment we can receive is when someone tells us "It's like being at home, only much better."
What’s the best kept secret about the area? Not everybody realizes how much the city has to offer year-round, and how much less crowded a lot of the favorite spots and museum are in the winter.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? We are a 12 minute train ride from Downtown Chicago where one can visit the Art Institute, Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and The Adler Planetarium. I would also suggest they explore some of the other neighborhoods on foot and check out some of the small businesses and local music you may not find downtown. Chicago is a great walking city!
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn? There are over 80 full-service restaurants, and hundreds of shops, boutiques, spas and bars in within walking distance.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area? There are so many good options in the neighborhood that it is hard to narrow down to one. Depending on what mood I am in there is always something nearby to satisfy a craving; great Cuban and Cafe Laguardia, Sushi from Coast, or Thai at Silom 12. We have a map of favorite lunch and dinner options in the neighborhood that we provide to guests at check-in.
Any good area guides/websites that travelers could reference? wickerparkbucktown.info is great for local stuff. For the larger city I would suggest explorechicago.org/city/en.html and www.choosechicago.com
How many rooms does your inn have? We have 11 rooms, all with private baths.
Do you accept pets? We do not accept pets.
