Barrington House Bed and Breakfast is a completely restored 1894 brick home located in the lovely village of Barrington, IL, just 35 miles northwest of Chicago. We are in Barrington's Historic District, only blocks from restaurants, the Catlow Theater, and the Metra Train Station.
Guests are welcome to use the parlor with fireplace, music room with player piano, large dining room, brick courtyard, and porch. Complimentary beverages are always available in the Butler's Pantry. Parking is provided in our brick-paved parking court. We hope your travel plans allow you to experience Barrington House where we endeavor to exceed your expectations.Your room rates includes a full gourmet breakfast served, by appointment between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, in the light filled dining room. Complimentary refreshments are always available in the Butler's Pantry. Guests are welcome to use the Music Room and Parlor with fireplace. Also enjoy the porch and brick-paved courtyard. Free parking is provided in the brick-paved parking court.

Most of our guests stay with us because they have a need to be in the Barrington area and they want to stay at the nicest and most convenient place in town.
What are you best known for?
Our attention to all the details required to accommodate the travel needs of our guests. This attention to details allows our guests to experience the most comfortable stay they have ever had away from home. Also our individually prepared gourmet breakfasts that can accommodate almost any dietary need.
What makes your inn unique?
The turn of the century atmosphere of Barrington House (our house dates from 1894) but with completely updated mechanical systems, pristine maintenance, thoroughly modern features, and unexpected amenities such as towel warmers.
What do you love most about your inn?
We are always very pleased with the sense of tranquility and peace of mind that the traveler experiences upon their arrival at Barrington House.
If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit? Although the Village of Barrington is not typically a “destination”, its small town ambiance, Metra Train Station, many restaurants, large historic district, accessible nature preserves, historic Catlow Theater, and various festivals make Barrington wonderful place for a getaway.
What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn? Many international guests stay with us and have said, “I’ve stayed in some of the best places in the world, and Barrington House is on par with the finest of them”.
What’s the best kept secret about the area? You don’t need a rental car and the accessible nature preserves.
If a traveler is staying at your inn for 4 nights, what should he/she do in the area? A traveler could eat, drink, enjoy live music, catch a movie at a historic theater, take the Metra to downtown Chicago, or attend to the actual reason they came to Barrington in the first place.
Is there anything within walking distance of your inn? Yes, there are several restaurants/bars (some with live music), the Catlow Theater - Barrington, Illinois, and the Metra Barrington Station.
What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area? Francescas, McGonigals Pub, Barrington Bistro
