Garden Suite
Spend a romantic Hawaii vacation or honeymoon in our Garden Suite at Hale Makamae on the Big Island. Brand New Renovation Completed! The Garden Suite is on the first floor, and its entrance and living room overlook the beautiful tropical garden. The Suite offers a dining/living room area and a kitchenette with stove top, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster oven, several small kitchen appliances, dishes, etc. The apartment has a private bathroom and separate entrance. With the queen-size bed in the master bedroom, the suite is perfect for a couple. A single bed can be moved into the living room. Our gourmet island breakfast is included in the rate.

Lanai Suite
Perfect for Hawaii family travel lodging, the Lanai Suite is located on the second floor at Hale Makamae Bed and Breakfast on the Big Island. The master bedroom, living room, and balcony overlook the tropical botanical garden.
This suite is ideal for family vacations in Hawaii. It offers two bedrooms, a dining/living room area, and a kitchenette with stove top, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, and other kitchen items. The futon full-size couch/bed in the living room, the king-size bed in the master bedroom, and queen-size bed in the second bedroom provide space for up to 5 guests. A separate entrance and your own bathroom give you full privacy. Our gourmet island breakfast is included in the rate.

Makamae Studio
Consider reserving the Makamae Studio for your Hilo, Hawaii bed and breakfast lodging. It is located on the first floor of Hale Makamae with a view of and entrance into the lush botanical garden.
With its king-size bed, ceiling fan, private bathroom, and separate entrance, this cozy room offers affordable Hawaii accommodations for one person or a couple. The Makamae Studio offers a coffee station, and our gourmet island breakfast is included in the rates. This wonderful breakfast is served every morning at 8:00 in our cozy breezeway and consists of a variety of fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, jams, breads, pancakes, or French toast. Kona coffee, tea, juice, and milk complete your selection.

Policies
For Hawaii lodging accommodations on a family vacation or a romantic retreat, consider reserving one of two beautiful guest suites or the Makamae Studio at our bed and breakfast near Hilo. Makamae Studio, Garden Suite , and Lanai Suite look out onto our two acres of tropical botanical gardens with orchids, palm and fruit trees, and many exotic plants.
All of our Big Island bed and breakfast suites offer separate entrances and private bathrooms. The bright, airy, and spacious ambiance and the Aloha Spirit of this warm island will make your stay pleasant and comfortable.
Our gourmet island breakfast of fruits, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereals, pancakes, French toast, coffee, tea, etc. is included in our rates and is served in the breakfast room. Satellite TV and free Wi-Fi is available in all suites and in the breakfast area. A gas BBQ, washer/dryer, and other amenities (maps, free parking, flash lights, etc.) are also available for use by our guests.- You can check in at Hale Makamae between 5 and 7 p.m. Please, let us know, if you arrive later.

- Our rates include our Gourmet Island Breakfast. They are for double occupancy, each additional person over age 12: $20 per night plus tax

- Weekly rates: Stay 7 nights - only pay for 6 nights.
- To complete your reservation we require a 50% deposit with a minimum of $100. The balance is due at check-in and is non-refundable for an early check-out, unless rooms can be re-booked.
- Payments can be made by Credit Card (Visa, Master, Discover), Traveler's Checks, Money Order or personal checks (US Bank) for your reservation. Checks should be made out to "Hale Makamae Bed & Breakfast". The remainder of your balance can also be paid in cash once you are here. Please, be advised that all payments have to be made in US currency.
- From December 20 - January 5 (Winter holidays) we have a three-night minimum stay on all suites. During the Merrie Monarch Festival in March/April there is a four-night minimum stay on all suites. Deposit for your Winter holiday reservations is non-refundable after September 30. Deposits for Merrie Monarch reservations are non-refundable after February 1.
- We generally have a two-night minimum stay policy. For one-night arrangements in the Makamae Studio and Garden Suite a surcharge of $20 and for the Lanai Suite of $30 will be added.
- Should you have to cancel your reservation we will refund your deposit, if the cancellation was made at least 30 days prior to your planned arrival.
