Step back in time to vintage Hawaii
A time when warm trade winds, the sweet smell of fresh plumeria leis and the distant sounds of native ukuleles graced the islands. 1940's Hawaii is yours to experience among our one acre of lush tropical paradise. Our botanical estate is surrounded by Hawaiian palms and fruit trees, an abundance of native flowers, an ancient lava tree, waterfall and a genuine Bali bamboo hot tub with grass roof gazebo! We are centrally located in the heart of the tropical Puna district in Leilani Estates, seven miles from the world famous live lava flow. At this amazing spot one can watch the red lava stream down the mountain side and experience the fiery glow of the billowing volcanic gases light up the night sky. We are three miles from the quaint village of Old Town Pahoa with its excellent restaurants and shops. In 1960 Pahoa became the anthurium and papaya capital of the world. Lava Tree State Park and Isaac Hale State Park with its thermal hot pools, surfing, and world-class snorkeling are just a few miles away. We are also just minutes from Kehena Beach, where one can enjoy the breathtaking black sand beaches and turquoise blue ocean. This beautiful beach is often frequented by dolphins, turtles and seasonal whales. Another nearby wonder not to be missed are the natural steam vent caves. You can also take a coastal drive along the Red Road, considered the most beautiful and scenic drive on all of the islands. One can also enjoy hiking, mountain biking and eco-tours at several nearby scenic trails. Volcanoes National Park, historic Hilo town and spectacular waterfalls are all within 20 miles of our rural peaceful retreat. Our one acre grounds are covered by tropical plants, colorful Hawaiian flowers, numerous fruit trees and a variety of palm trees. Take a stroll through the gardens and you will encounter literally hundreds of anthuriums, rare jade plants, orchids, and hibiscus plants-all while enjoying the plumeria scented air. Lush lawns and lava rock planters cover most of the estate and an actual lava tree formation at the entrance to the property is a favorite among guests.
