  • Insider's Info

Travelers are always looking for memorable and relaxing experiences. Let’s discover more through the words of our innkeepers. Many thanks to Peg Hicks-Moore for sharing her own secrets with!
Why do most travelers stay at your inn? If someone has never been to your city, what is the #1 reason to come visit?

Our location. Maui has been ranked by Conde Nast to be the most beautiful island in the world for 17 years in a row. We are one minute’s drive from the town of Lahaina, Maui, a former Whaling village that is now a vibrant, popular area for tourists filled with souvenir shops, art galleries and restaurants; but as we are located with our back to a sugarcane field we are far enough away that all you can hear at night is the rustle of the palms in the breeze and have a clear view of the stars in the sky. 5 minutes in the other direction is Kaanapali, where you find all the high priced resorts and fine dining.

Our size. We are not a huge, generic brand hotel. People who stay with us like to feel nurtured, and have no additional expenses. We are all inclusive – parking, breakfast, bicycles, snorkeling gear, towels, beach equipment, boogie boards, Wi-Fi.

Weather. Lahaina means “harsh sun” and you are guaranteed great beach weather year ‘round. Our average daily temp is 80 degrees, 70 at night. We have a saltwater pool, and are a 5 minute walk downhill to the beach.

Our beach. Wahikuli beach is sandy, sunny, with BBQs, covered picnic tables, grass, trees, fresh water showers, bathrooms, terrific snorkeling, or scuba diving. Wonderful boating, whale watching, dolphins, turtles, horseback riding, and hiking.

What are you best known for? What makes your inn unique? What do you love most about your inn?

The House of Fountains is old Hawaiian. Lava rock walls, tiki torches, koi pond, waterfalls. We are a large house, 7000 square feet, and the bedrooms are very large and all ensuite. We have upgraded the rooms and they are very clean and lovely. The view of the ocean from our lanai is fantastic.

What’s the best compliment you have ever received about the inn?

Guests love the breakfasts, and they love the personalized attention they receive from me and my devoted staff. We rotate the meals 7 days differently, and the average guest stays 3 days so they get a new experience each morning.

What is your favorite restaurant/food in the area?

Two - Mala and Honu, owned by the same family, right on the water on the edge of town nearest us. Some of the best food I have eaten anywhere in the world and the service is terrific.

How many rooms does your inn have?

    Do you accept pets?

No, Hawaii doesn’t allow travelers from off island to bring pets.
