    The Rainbow Plantation Bed & Breakfast Inn - Captain Cook, HawaiiRainbow Plantation Bed & Breakfast Inn is located on a 3 acre former macadamia and coffee plantation on the Big Island of Hawaii. This historical, sacred Hawaiian landsite has been farmed for centuries, It is a natural, secluded, private, tropical hideaway, away from traffic and surrounded by many varieties of tropical plants, flowers and organically grown fruit trees. This wildlife sanctuary is a natural retreat for eco travelers, bird watchers, animal/nature lovers and guests, who seek a true Hawaiian, non-touristy, non toxic environment in which to relax and unwind.

    Rainbow Plantation is a limited working coffee and macadamia farm. Between early September and February many rounds of Kona Coffee are harvested. Macadamia nuts drop all year but especially in the Fall.

    A tropical, healthy and plentiful continental-plus breakfast is served on our ocean view lanai in the main house. It consists of fresh organically grown fruits, homemade breads, granola and muffins, toast, jellies, free range farm eggs by request, coffee, a variety of teas and fruit juice.

    Besides coffee and macadamia nuts, we organically grow pineapple, passion fruits, papaya, banana, star fruit, oranges, limes, cashew nuts, lychee, guava, and many more Hawaiian fruits that will be served on your fresh fruit plate according to the season.

    On this wildlife and animal sanctuary you will find many varieties of birds, wild pheasants, turkeys, peacocks, unusual chickens, parrots, miniature horses, our plump potbelly pig, "Magnolia" and a wild but friendly pig who showed up on our farm to find shelter from hunters. All of the critters are guarded and protected by "Soleil" our smart and lovable dog from the animal shelter.

    We are located at 81-6327 Mamalahoa Hwy, about 15 miles south of Kona. 20 from airport.

    If coming from Kona, we are located after Kealakekua, but before Captain Cook and on the Right before the first road (Napoopoo) leading down to Kealakekua bay. There is a kayak rental just before and a Chevron station opposite our driveway.

    If coming from the south, pass Napoopoo Rd and Chevron station on right.

    From Hilo, drive through Captain Cook, pass an Aloha gas station on left, pass Napoopoo Rd, 200 ft later we are on the left.

    There is a Chevron station almost opposite our driveway.

    Drive down, we are 2nd driveway to the left down that narrow lane.
