How far are you from the Volcanoes National Park?
The Volcanoes National Park is located outside of Hilo. It is approximately 31.8 miles from our property, which is about a 50 minute drive. The road is very safe and well paved.
How far are you from Downtown Hilo?
We are 1-mile to Downtown Hilo. By car it takes about a minute to get there. If you plan on walking, it takes about 10-15 minutes.
Can I check-In early?
We respectfully request that you try to schedule your check-in time after 3pm so that we may have the opportunity to prepare your room as well as other guest rooms for the night. During the time between check-out and check-in numerous daily routines are performed such as cleaning, room service, shopping for supplies, and occassionally emergency maintenance, so that the property is ready for your enjoyment after 3pm. If you would like to drop off luggage earlier than 3pm please give us a call first. We are tremendously grateful for your understanding in this matter.
How far are you from the airport?
From the Hilo Internation Airport we are approximately 4 miles away which is about a 5-10 minute drive. From the Kona International Airport we are about 100 miles away which is about a 2-hour drive to the Hilltop Legacy.
Do you offer transportation to/from the airport or bus terminal?
Transfer service to/from the Hilo International airport and Hilo bus terminal can be arranged, as well as taxi service. If you would like to be picked up from the airport or bus terminal please be sure to give us a call prior to arriving.
Is there public transportation near the property?
Hilo is the hub of the Hele-On Bus (808-961-8744). The Mooheau Bus Terminal is 1-mile from the property. It is easier to get around the island from here than from anywhere else. Buses depart from the green-roofed Mooheau Bus Terminal, at the corner of Mamo St. and Kamehameha Ave. Open M-F 8:30am-4:30pm. Every Hele-On bus is free no matter where on the island you go, although there is a $5.00 charge for baggage.
Will our room have air conditioning?
As with many homes in Hawaii we do not have air conditioning in the house. Each guest room has a fan and since we are located at the top of a hill, there is always a constant breeze.
Will we have our own bathroom?
Each guest room on the property does have it's own private bathroom. All the bathrooms are ensuite except for the Volcano Room which is located right next to the room.
Do you have internet available on the propety?
Yes. We offer free wifi in all guest rooms as well as around the property. For guests that do not want to bring their own computer, we also have a laptop available for rent for $5.00/ hour.
Is breakfast includeed in the rate?
Yes, we offer a "self Serve" continental breakfast to all guests which is included in the room rate. Breakfast is served from 8-9am and consists of coffee, tea, juice, doughnuts or bagels, oatmeal and fresh fruit (what is in season).
Do you accept children?
Of course! We welcome well mannered children of all ages. If you would like to have a crib set up in your room, please let us know prior to your arrival.
Is there a minimum stay required to stay at your property?
There is no minimum stay required to stay with us. We welcome one night guests and there is no additional charge for staying for one night.Is your property handicapped accessible?
I'm sorry but our property is not handicap accessible because all of our guest rooms are located on the second floor of the property.
Are pets allowed at the property?
Although we are very fond of pets, we often have guests with pet allergies, so we do not allow pets in the home.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed in the guest rooms, However we have three private lanai's outside where you are welcome to smoke.worn. -
