StarWind is a luxurious honeymoon/vacation cottage featuring king-sized beds, full kitchen, oceanview deck with sunken Jacuzzi... perfect for the ultimate honeymoon or romantic escape. A second bedroom can accommodate families with children or two couples traveling together. The tropical garden-patio has a barbecue, Tiki torches and a view of sunset over the ocean. Relax and enjoy exquisite beauty, tranquility and total privacy. You will not see another person unless you intend to, because no other guests share any of your space or amenities, and StarWind is protected by the surrounding terrain and tropical foliage.

Upon entering you are embraced by light and space, and the openness to nature which typifies Pacific island lifestyle. Fresh tropical flowers and ornamental glass adorn lighted display niches in the living room and bedrooms. StarWind can comfortably accommodate 4-6 people. There is a king-sized bed in each of the two bedrooms; all bed and bath linen is provided. Comfortable air mattresses are supplied when additional beds are required.

The master bedroom has windows facing the garden, the ocean and the rain forest. The second bedroom looks out to the garden, Mt. Haleakala volcano and the rain forest. Recessed cove lighting and sconces are equipped with dimmers for creating atmosphere. Both bedrooms open onto the ocean-view deck with sunken Jacuzzi. The cobalt-blue glass-tiled master bathroom has a deep shower / tub which can comfortably soak two. There is a fully-equipped laundry room with supplies for your use.

The living room features views of rain forest and ocean. Its entertainment center includes digital satellite video, DVD, VHS and six-speaker surround sound. CDs of local island music are supplied. Dial-up and broadband WiFi internet access, local and long-distance telephone calls to the U.S. and Canada are all complimentary.

The dining area overlooks a jungle gorge. An insert can expand the table to seat six. The full kitchen has a bay window opening to the garden. The black granite countertops contain tiny crystals which sparkle like the night sky.

The patio garden is lush with exotic ginger and heliconia blossoms. And if you find ripe papayas or bananas within reach, help yourself! A barbecue and charcoal are provided, and Tiki torches add atmosphere after dusk. The deck and whirlpool-spa offer a spectacular 180-degree view sweeping from the ocean, across the rain-forests of Haiku Valley, to the 10,000 foot summit of the volcano. Watch sunset over the ocean or gaze at the Milky Way spanning the entire night sky.

Maui Tradewinds invites you to a secluded setting of tropical splendor away from the crowds, yet centrally located for Maui's many diverse recreational activities. You will be inspired by views of lush rain-forests, Mount Haleakala, and the crystal blue ocean. You can see the island of Molokai from your breakfast table, and the private patio affords views of sunset over the West Maui Mountains. The patio is equipped with a hammock, BBQ and lawn furniture. The full private bath has a shower/tub and a sauna which can be used with dry heat or steam. The laundry room has a large-capacity washer and dryer.

The Suite is equipped with ceiling fans; trade winds also provide ample ventilation. The suite has its own telephone line and a complete entertainment center with color TV (Digital satellite reception), CD, DVD player and Stereo VCR. Dial-up and broadband WiFi internet access, local and long-distance telephone calls to the U.S. and Canada are all complimentary.

Outside your door is your tropical garden with exotic plants and flowers. Tiki torches are lit at dusk, as they were in ancient times. Relax in the Tiki Garden, or enjoy a BBQ when the evening turns cool. Then follow the meandering quartzite stone path to your private ocean-view Jacuzzi.

The garden and spa are for your exclusive use. By day enjoy a truly awesome panoramic vista from the Pacific Ocean, across the rain-forests of Haiku Valley, to the 10,000-foot summit of Mt. Haleakala. At dusk, watch the sunset over the neighboring island of Molokai. After dark, the Tiki Garden is romantic by torch light.

For your safety and comfort, and out of mutual consideration, we request your observance of the following policies:

• Check-in between 3-6 PM, Check-out by 10 AM unless other arrangements are agreed-upon in advance.
• Children are welcome -- please supervise them to assure their safety.
• Please remove shoes before entering.
• Smoking is permitted outdoors only.
• Kindly keep sound level down between 10 PM and 8 AM.
• Alcohol should not be consumed before or during use of sauna or spa. Additional safety guidelines are posted in sauna and spa area. Drug use is prohibited.
• Please do not take glass outdoors -- plastic drinking containers are available.
• When you are going to be away, please lock all doors and sliders. We believe our home is safe and secure, but we cannot be responsible for your valuable property.
• If you wish to shift the frame of the couch to make it into an extra bed (or vice versa) please ask one of us to assist you -- it requires two people and some practice (this applies only to Tradewinds Suite). Please ask for assistance with the sauna or the Tiki torches.
• Our spa maintenance service cleans and chemically balances the outdoor spa once a week to assure that it remains in top condition. We will notify you of the schedule.
