  • Introduction

Come submerge yourself in quiet luxury, perched high on top of a mountain. After a good nights rest experience a hearty gourmet breakfast of homemade breads, delicious egg dishes and creative fruit preparations, all served on fine china.

Spend the day enjoying some of the nearby activities like hiking, picnicing beside a waterfall, fly fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, golfing or just reading a good book on the back porch overlooking the mountains and the Sautee Valley.  The Spa at Lucille's is conveniently located adjacent to the Inn, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing spa service and then stroll down the covered walkway to your room or a comfortable chair on the porch, overlooking the valley below.

You can also visit several excellent wineries located in the Sautee Village just 1 mile from Lucille's or in the Nacoochee Village located just 4 miles from the Inn.  Tubing on the nearby  Chattahoochee River is always a great way to relax during the summer.  Lots of dining options are available in the Sautee and Nacoochee Villages, along with restaurants in Helen and Clarksville.

Return to the Inn for homemade desserts and perhaps a short climb up to the Inn's Crow's Nest for a 360 degree view of the mountains and Sautee Valley, and where you can watch a gorgeous sunset or count the stars through the telescope.

Our bed and breakfast in Georgia is pleased to offer three comfortable and contemporary room styles for your relaxation. All 10 rooms have private bathrooms and are beautifully decorated in rich colors with touches like decorator quilts and coverlets, art books, design accessories, custom soaps, and fresh flowers. You will rest easy on our soft, comfortable sheets made especially for luxury inns and spas.

Mountain View Rooms are located on the backside of the inn and have views over the Blue Ridge Mountains, king-size beds, whirlpool tubs, see-through fireplaces, and separate showers with dual shower heads. Valley View Rooms are on the front side of the inn and have views over the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys, king-size beds, spacious bathrooms, walk-in showers with dual shower heads, and comfortable seating areas.

Main Level Rooms are the largest floor plans, with high ceilings and large windows overlooking the gazebo garden and koi pond. Both are handicap accessible. One Main Level Room can be configured with a king bed or twin beds, and the other has a queen bed and French doors onto the inn's back porch.

  • Breakfast and Dining

Delight in Breakfast at Our Inn in North Georgia

After a relaxing night's sleep in one of our comfortable rooms, your day begins with an amazing meal. A full gourmet breakfast is included with your stay and will be a highlight of your visit. We use fresh ingredients that we source from local farms, farmer's markets, or picked fresh from our own kitchen garden when seasonally available. Breakfast is served to you on fine china. A typical breakfast has three courses and starts with a fresh fruit dish, like Spiced Apples served over Greek Vanilla Bean Yogurt or Fresh Berries with Thyme Simple Syrup. Next comes the breakfast breads. We love baking breakfast breads, and most mornings we have two varieties available. Waking to the aroma of fresh baked Banana Bread, Lemon Scones, or Honey Bran Muffins is a great way to start your day. For the main course we serve hearty egg dishes like Swiss Mustard Eggs or a Wild Mushroom and Gruyere Frittata, which typically comes with a side serving of a breakfast meat like turkey sausage links or bacon.

Not only will you enjoy the food, but the view will also make your breakfast memorable. Our dining room has a wall of dramatic windows that provide magnificent views of near and distant mountain ridges and a view that stretches for miles across the Sautee Valley in North Georgia. Outdoor dining on the back porch is available with the same gorgeous views, weather permitting.

Breakfast is served daily 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Coffee and a variety of teas are available throughout the day and for those up early to watch the sunrise over Lynch Mountain.

    Save room for Dessert!

Also included with your stay is dessert each evening. We serve up a delicious cake, chewy cookies, or sweet dessert bars on the dining room buffet each evening to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth. Some of our favorites include:

    • German Chocolate Cake
    • Apple Spice Cake with Cinnamon Frosting
    • Molasses Cookies
    • Southern Praline Pecan Bars
    • Chocolate Kahlua Cake with Chocolate Frosting
    • Lemon Cake with Fresh Lemon Zest Frosting

Enjoy our delicious breakfast and desserts before and after your adventures during your stay at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa.

Fine Wines, Champagne and Craft BeersPicture of Red Wine Bottle, Glasses, Cheese and Red Grapes

You are sure to find several wines to suit your taste buds.  If it is truly a special occasion ask to have a bottle of champagne on ice waiting in your room for your arrival.

Lucille's also offers a wide variety of craft beer styles for the beer connoisseur.  Our current selection includes American Style Gold and Pale Ales, a hearty English Style Porter, German and American Style Pilsners, an English Style Stout and an IPA.  The selection changes seasonally, but has something for everyone who enjoys craft beers.

  • Meetings and Gatherings

Our Georgia Facility is Equipped for Your Business Needs

Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa, located an easy-to-travel distance from Atlanta, is ideally suited to host small meetings like corporate team meetings, off-site retreats, or small meetings by government organizations that require a budget-friendly site. Our site is perfect for hosting book clubs, religious groups, quilting groups, and scrapbooking clubs looking for the intimate surroundings of a small country inn that also offers modern facilities and amenities.

Our current conference room comfortably seats 10 in a conference style or 20 in a classroom format. We are also very excited about an additional meeting room space currently being remodeled that will accommodate meetings up to 30 in a quiet, comfortable space adjacent to the Spa. This will allow us to host larger meetings and gatherings requiring a separate break-out room for sub-teams, all with the convenience and personal service of a small luxury inn.

Ten Reasons Why You Should Book Your Next Small Meeting at Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa

Convenience - Our inn is an easy drive from Atlanta, Greenville, and the greater Northeast Georgia Mountains region. Far enough for an off-site meeting, but without the headaches of a long travel day.

Service - Our staff provides a level of personal service difficult to find in one of those big-city hotels and not always executed well by some small hotels and inns.

Value - Our location and facility are top-notch, but because we're located outside of a large metropolitan area our value is outstanding and that will help you produce a quality meeting without the high price tag.

Meeting Productivity - Our meeting facilities are ideally suited for small team meetings and provide the comfort that you need to be productive during those long planning sessions. Located on the terrace level, the meeting room windows look out over the Koi pond and Gazebo garden, and has French doors to the patio overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Luxury - Our guest rooms are tastefully furnished, our bed linens are wonderfully soft, our towels are plush Turkish cotton and we use only organic bath amenities. The Inn's common areas are elegantly furnished in the arts and crafts style, and are comfortable for casual gatherings before and after your meeting.

The Food - Our gourmet breakfast is prepared every day using fresh ingredients that are sourced locally when available and our evening desserts are a great way to end the day. We also work with select caterers to provide your meeting with the best in food service to keep your team satisfied and focused.

The Spa - The Spa at Lucille's offers the finest in facial, massage, and skin care services. Perfect for de-stressing after a meeting or for guest accompanying meeting attendees.

The Area - Opportunities for outdoor activities abound in the North Georgia Mountains once your meeting is complete. Several outstanding wineries are also located within a few miles and there are numerous galleries and shops in the Sautee Village just below the Inn.

Relaxation - Our wide back porch and deck are equipped with swing, rockers, and outdoor dining tables that are perfect for overlooking the mountains while you unwind after a meeting. And for the ultimate relaxation after a long day of meetings, evening appointments can be arranged at The Spa.

Beauty - You can hold a meeting at lots of places, but no one in this region has all of the above and the outstanding mountain and valley views that we have.

    Family Reunions and Group Travel

Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa is ideally suited for hosting family reunions and groups of friends traveling together for a relaxing weekend. Our comfortable guest rooms and warm, inviting atmosphere provide the perfect environment for your family to bond and renew, or for a group of friends to socialize and relive old times. The common rooms, back porch and deck overlooking the Sautee Valley provide ample area for casual gatherings of family or friends while staying at the inn. We can also host more formal gatherings such as catered dinners, receptions, luncheons for groups from four to forty. Our inn provides a much more personal experience for your next reunion or weekend gathering of friends than can be found at a chain hotel, without all the housework of renting a cabin.

  • Activities

Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa is surrounded by natural beauty, but outdoor adventures are not the only way to spend your days here. You will find there are many other activities to keep you busy in the surrounding towns and villages. Our inn sits on a small mountain top just above the Village of Sautee, which is a charming mountain village filled with unique shops, wineries, galleries and the local cultural center. You can easily spend the afternoon wandering the Village of Sautee seeing the quaint shops, touring the Northeast Georgia Folk Pottery Museum, visiting the art galleries, having a sandwich or snack at a local deli or coffee shop, tasting an excellent wine at one of the wineries, or visiting a historic trading post that is still in business.

A little further drive from the inn you will find an assortment of arts and historic sites. Tour a working glass studio, where the artists create spectacular glass objects. Wander through a country market filled with unique home-style goods, along with gourmet foods and wines. Dine at a fine Italian restaurant on tender handmade pasta and a slow-cooked beef tenderloin sauce. Visit a unique pottery studio housed in an historic grist mill perched over the rapids of the Soque River. Or see one of Georgia's remaining covered bridges, just a mile down the road from our inn.

Give us a call at 706-878-5055, and we will be glad to help you plan a two, three, or four day itinerary that takes some of the diverse activities of the North Georgia mountains. In addition to these activities, plan an outdoor excursion, and don't miss seeing our waterfalls.

    Shopping

Old Sautee Store - A circa 1872 General Store located in the Village of Sautee. A portion of the building has been preserved as an old country store museum, including fixtures and supplies found in country stores from the early 1900's. A modern section offers a variety of gifts, jewelry, men's and women's apparel, cookbooks and regional books. Surprisingly, the Old Sautee Store is one of the top amber jewelry retailers in the US and also carries a nice selection of high-quality handmade knifes. Be sure to sample their delicious Farmer's Cheese from Sweden...great with ginger crackers or flat bread.

Greenstone Soap Company - Handmade soaps, bath salts, body scrubs, shower gels, essential oils, candles, and gifts. Great products that make you feel good and that are good for your body.

Inside/Out Sautee - Always stocked with unique home furnishings and a diverse collection of art, including paintings, pottery, fiber, metal work, and an extensive variety of handmade jewelry. We found several unique lamps for the inn here and an oil painting that we love.

Elfmade Wooden Toys - Here you'll find handmade wooden toys that are imaginative and fun for all ages. The toymaker has over 40 years of experience turning out unique toys. His skills with a band saw are amazing and most of their products are made of renewable materials. The wooden figure puzzles are adorable and you can custom paint your own.

The Lavender Cottage and Garden - This cute cottage in the Sautee Village carries dozens of lavender related products...hand soaps, bar soaps, lotions, reed diffusers, dried lavender bouquets, lavender buds by the scoop, delicious lavender food products, and several varieties of lavender plants. Also carries handmade pottery, adorable children's items and garden products.

    Scenic Drives

Lucille's Mountain Top Inn & Spa is the ideal base for exploring the natural beauty of Northeast Georgia and some of the interesting stops along with way. We've outlined two scenic drives starting from the inn that will lead you to incredible sights and allow you to stop at dozens of other interesting diversions along the way.

Forest, Mountain Peaks and Waterfall Hiking

One of National Geographic's "Drives of a Lifetime - 500 of the World's Most Spectacular Trips" is right outside our backdoor. Spend a little more than an hour of drive time traveling through the forested mountains and valleys of Northeast Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest or take longer to stop at some of the spectacular sights along the way. This route takes the shady highways that follow the wild and tumbling Chattahoochee River, leads you across the Appalachian Trail and to observation areas along the way where you can see dramatic mountain vistas. Stop to see Georgia's highest mountain or hike to several waterfalls along the route.

Mountain River Valley Art and Wine Drive

The inn is a perfect base for exploring the diverse art of Northeast Georgia and, at the same time, taking in some of the spectacular natural beauty of the nearby mountains, valleys, and rivers. This drive takes approximately one and a half hours, passing through the Sautee and Nacoochee Valleys, through the Soque River Valley and through historic Clarkesville, Georgia, with it's small-town square and downtown shops and restaurants. It leads you back to the Village of Sautee to end the day tasting local wines and visiting some of the unique shops in the village.

Either of these drives can be done in less than 2 hours or you can take your time and see the sights along the way to make it a day of exploring the natural beauty and local flavor of the Georgia mountains. Stop by the front desk, and we will give you printed directions and send you on the drive of a lifetime.
