In May of 2006, with no buyer in sight, the Brady Inn Bed and Breakfast was scheduled to be divided up, furnishings auctioned off. As the deadline approached, the Conrads' family -- parents, brothers, sisters, and spouses -- responded and rescued the Inn. But who would run it?
Karen, the oldest daughter, and husband, Peter Wibell, loved visiting B&Bs and thought one day they might have one of their own. Suddenly, that day was here! Karen's professional career had focused on sales and marketing of home furnishings. Peter had managed restaurants in New York City and Dallas while working on his doctorate as a family and marriage counselor. They moved to Georgia with their two young daughters in 1997 to be closer to grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts.
Their genuine interest in people, love of fine food, attention to detail, and hospitality experience make them gracious hosts. Today, Peter concentrates his time at the Inn; Karen is involved in community philanthropy and is a writer and artist.
The Inn was bought "as is" ~ apparently that included a cat which we call Brady. An outside kitty, Brady can't meow and was probably abused. You might spot her, but she is very skittish! -
